Picked it up last night. Went through the tutorial again (I skipped some in the demo) and did a little practice. I have a lot to learn, so what's a good difficulty to use when trying to get the controls & such down?

I ask because it sounds like on the lower levels they don't do certain things (ie, transition out of bad ground positions or attempt takedowns). I'd like the CPU to make an effort in all phases so I can improve...

Experienced is probably a good place to start.

Experienced would be a good jumping off point in exhibition. Once you've got the controls down (and not just the controls of the stuff you like doing), jump up to advanced.

Thanks guys. That's what I was thinking since I played the demo for only a few hours on Beginner. At least I've got some helpful folks here and reading the strategy thread has helped me feel a bit less overwhelmed...

Get the Tapout sponsor in career.

Wait really? Why isnt there a thread for this? As in what 3 fighters do we get? :wink:

And its looking like the gamestop code for the 2 fighters is an individual code for each person. So no you cant use your friends (i tried).

Goh was almost criminal in not mentioning the three "fighters" are the guys from Tapout, so don't get excited.

Same here.

The only thing that really annoys me are non-gameplay things, like the menus (OMG, whoever designed the way to put sponsors onto your shorts needs to be bludgeoned) and the small choice of announced nicknames. The in-cage gameplay is fantastic.

If it's this good this year, I can't wait to see what the game is like in the future.

Just had my first fight of the day. I noticed the UFC 98 Evans vs Machida logo on the mat. Nice touch.

Damn I am LOVING this game. Having more fun with it than I thought and I loved the Demo. It is the best fighting game I have ever played be it real sports or Street Fighter/Tekken games. It is so damn deep and every fight is different from the next.

Went online and dominated. Went like 9 and 2 and the only two losses came of flash KO's when I was dominating the fight and caught with a lucky kick. I think I had 4 or 5 submissions of those 9 wins.

Pissed one idiot off and he preceded to want to cuss me for taking him to the ground and beating his head in. I was Mir and he was Silva and he cried about how I wouldn't have a slugfest with him and I all I did was mount him. Crying how if we went to slug it he would win. Got to love the idiots that don't know the ground game and cry when you beat them to death.

I was greatly surprised at how good my random ranked fights where. I only ran into one spamming idiot who had Rampage and just threw his sig uppercut non stop. Other than that they where pretty good fight. I would like to fight some of you guys if anybody is ever on during the mourning/day time. Thats when I more than likely play online.

that is why the game is so good. These button mashers and spammers get their *** handed to them! Had a lot of great fights against randoms. Had a few that quit right when I one too, which pisses me off !

I've quit ranked matches until they fix that crap. I probably have 15 more wins than my record shows.
