i tapped out a dude, i was gassed, he had 75% green bar.. he tapped and i got that gassed achievement, pretty cool..

I think I got that achievement my first fight. I was Nog vs. Mir and we were both gassed in the 3rd round as we got stood up. I KO'd him with a left hook.

when going for a submission or trying to get out, do you rotate the R-Stick in a circular motion?

Thats one thing that I'm still having a hard time with, is trying to submit guys. Making sure I'm doing it right.

when going for a submission or trying to get out, do you rotate the R-Stick in a circular motion?

Thats one thing that I'm still having a hard time with, is trying to submit guys. Making sure I'm doing it right.

yep, spin it as fast as you can. You have to do it when they are tired for the best chance. Turn the stamina meters on if you don't have them on

Yea, either all four buttons or "the shine"

Buttons= Brute force

R Stick= Technique

Button will work if your Brock trying to escape a sub vs doing the same with Machida...

I just started turning on the stamina meters.

the meters help a ton ! Also helps to watch them for your guy too so you know when to step back and gain some stamina back.

I wish there was a better search system. You should be able to search or create a match for people near your skill level.

I got the game this afternoon and played for about 2 hours tonight, so these a
re initial impressions.

First, I did create a fighter. Did the initial fight with him and the CPU handed my head to me.

I then decided to go into practice mode. Once I turned the opponent to CPU/Experienced (one step up from beginner) he was pounding me so I reviewed the transition lesson (I went through the entire tutorial in the demo yesterday.)
Anyway, a few points:
1. The create a fighter mode is quite detailed so that is cool.
2. There is *definitely* a learning curve...just to remember all the moves you need to go over it several times.
3. Punching and kicking is intuitive as each arm/leg is mapped to a button and L2 (I think) makes it a low kick/punch.
4. The graphics and physics seem good and I had no noticeable issues.
5. I understand why people are having a hard time putting it down...even the practice/tutorials are engaging. (I'll probably go back though the tutorials again as there is a trophy to be earned here :-).)
6. In summary...I think you will find that this is a game you get your $60 worth out of. There is a lot to do here even beyond getting on line and competing.

My PSN ID is cepwin and I'd be happy to accept FRs from other PS3 UFC players. (I also play FIFA and have a pre-order in for Fight Night Round 4.)
