He shouldn't even be a "professional" MMA fighter right now. Blame whoever signed him to Elite. If he improves his skills however, I might give him some props. But for now he's a sideshow. LMAO the rules suddenly change once they announce that he's on the show.

I do hope his game has matured but I doubt it.

Why shouldn't he be a "professional" MMA fighter now?

Take away the "fame" and at this point, he's sort of in the same position as some of the previous TUF guys right? Marginal experience, tryin to get put on the big show. There have been countless TUF contestants in the past who had no business in the Octagon. How's this any different other than the "fame"?

Well for one, dude does have the hype. But he also got embarrassed in 14 seconds by some guy named Seth Petruzelli who took the fight just a few hours before the main event. I have no problem with him being on TUF, but to give him special treatment because of his fame? Come on.

It's a fight and anything can happen... Everybody loses at some point.

If you believe the speculation in the article, then yeah you're going to think he's going to get special treatment. That's the problem you run into when jaded, cynical media types get a hold of a story like this.

That's why I hope that quote is indeed bogus. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the fighters on there. For all I know there's probably a few of those dudes who are better than Slice. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

It's not like Petruzelli was some no-name guy. Maybe to the casual fan. He had a win over Dan Severn a couple years ago. He also made it to the semi-finals on TUF and lost to a guy that took Frank Mir to decision. It's not like Seth is some random street scrub.

Well they had to do something to make an all HW season be even remotely interesting. I think they did it.

Now I just wanna know who else in a part of the cast this season.

That little quote I posted is just speculation from the guys article, not something anyone with power or influence, ie. Dana White, said. Its funny that the article mentioned that it was going to be two different weight classes and then they quietly scrapped that and informed the other guys that it was going to be completely heavyweight instead, which made me wonder if Dana did that to throw everything and the kitchen sink at Kimbo.

Does anyone really believe that Dana would want Kimbo to succeed? I see this as Dana's attempt to make Kimbo look like a clown so I have a hard time believing they would do anything to protect him but I thought it was worth discussion either way. Dana has a huge ego so Im sure he is trying to set it up so Kimbo gets smashed very early on and he can go back to talking about how he had no business being in MMA in the first place.

I think its win/win for Dana. If Kimbo does well Dana makes even more money. If Kimbo does poorly Dana gets to say I told you so.

Rampage/Evans and now Kimbo's on board? This is definitely gonna be the most watched season of TUF.

This is a great move by both sides. The public fasination with Kimbo died a little after his last loss, so being visible on television every week will do wonders for him. Even when he finishes with MMA, he should be able to do other things because of his name. The UFC gets a ratings boost and potentially a ready made superstar if he can somehow elevate his game and win the show. If he totally bombs out then who cares because it was expected.

I never understood the Kimbo hate. The guy has never said he was special, he knows he has a long way to go. He just capitalized on some Youtube videos and made some money off of it. He always came across as an alright dude to me.

As much as I dislike Kimbo - at least there will be someone making the next season worth watching. I've stopped watching this season because there's just no one worth watching for.

Its Elite XC's fault. They built the guy up like a monster even though he never beat anyone worth a damn.
