He didn't make himself look arrogant or stupid in that video at all.No one can deny that the ufc is the best mma company out there today and how is stating your gameplay against another fighter arrogant or stupid.Check out some of his other videos the guy respects his opponents who deserve it.

I guess I see the vid in a completely different light then, because I feel Fedor has nothing to prove. The UFC needs him, not the other way around. Mir better worry about Brock before he even talks about what Fedor needs to do. It wasnt exactly smooth sailing the first time he fought Brock.Comment

LOL, how are you not suppose to call out the guy that is labeled the best in the business.You might not think he has nothing to prove but other guys in his weight class want to prove that they are the best by beating the person who everyone deems the best in the world.That is how sports goes you usually call out the best so you can prove you are the best.

? Have you seen the whole 'conference' thing by any chance? He didn't come across as stupid or arrogant at all - but intelligent and thoughtful.
In this clip, all he was saying was he wants to fight the best of the best to test himself - and Fedor is the best, and he'd love to test himself against him.

LOL at "The UFC needs Fedor"....ummm last i noticed UFC was the biggest MMA organization in the world, making mega millions, they do not need Fedor or any other fighter lol. Fedor is not even known by the casual fans, saying the UFC needs him is a joke, his popularity in north american is very small compared to say Chuck.
But then again this is the guy, who thinks a hand over the mouth is the same thing as a choke so i was not expecting much.
PS: Mir is one of the classiest down to earth fighters around, he is always very respectful of his opponents.Comment

The UFC does not need him. If they never sign Fedor, they will remain the top MMA organization by a mile. Fedor doesnt need the UFC either but when his career is over the fact that he didnt fight in the UFC will be a mark on his record.Comment

I'm just shocked that people are actually defending Mir here. During his season as a coach on TUF everyone called him a jerk except for me and now he's classy.

My thing about this clip is where the non-champion (whether that remains to be seen is one thing) talks as if he is the best when he isn't even Top 3 on the planet, alone the best in his own organization, subsequently puts the onus on Fedor "to prove that he's the best" and tries to question the legitimacy of Fedor's legacy just because he "doesn't have a UFC title". Pardon me if I find that a tad arrogant. I never said he wasn't classy and he was articulate in the OP's clip, but there was some cockiness there. Again, I felt Mir was basically sending for Fedor in Dana's stead.
I don't even think Mir could beat Barnett, let alone Fedor.
But in this little "conflict", I think it's a lose/lose for both sides with UFC winning. If Fedor doesn't come to UFC, UFC fans will (somehow) question his legacy and the UFC will ultimately win the long run when they continue to bring in more HWs to build up.Last edited by SHO; 06-03-2009, 09:31 AM.Comment
