True he landed a few big shots on Mitrione and Matt didn't even flinch. He just kept smiling like a goon.

I can't wait until Mitrione gets a fight against a real contender, if he does. I'd like to see Mitrione vs. Nelson, that is if (most likely when) he loses to Junior.

I don't think he needs to be put in with any sort of contender yet. Dude has only fought 3 times and the UFC doesn't even seem to know about his pre-TUF fight. So in their eyes he only has 2 fights. I'd throw him in with Joey Beltran next. The guy has better hands and stamina than Kimbo and is 2-0 in the UFC but isn't exactly world class at anything. Seems like a logical next for Meathead. Brendan Schaub is another possibility.

Oh and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Nelson beat JDS. We know JDS has deadly stand up but we just don't know how good his ground game is. He only has one real sub and his only loss was by submission.

Either way I hope it happens, would be an interesting fight for sure.

Roy Nelson vs Junior Dos Santos? Is that what you meant!?

if this is what you mean, why would Nelson get a shot at him after JDS just beat Gonzaga? Roy doesn't deserve that yet imo. Plus JDS is easily one of the most intimidating men in the UFC. The guy means business!

edit; i just wanted to add one thing. What Shogun did is special. He finished machida - he came to win the fight, not the points...his skill was evident in the first fight, but this time put him away. Really is a stand-out win in MMA history imo.

JDS is good, but Nelson is better than people believe. He has a ton of experience, I think it is a good matchup. Plus, Roy isn't a spring chicken, he is 33..

Well, I owe Koscheck an apology on the "faked knee blow" front.

Watch for the illegal right knee that connects cleanly and hard right before the big missed left they all focused on during the broadcast:

You know, watching it live I could have sworn I saw Kos' head snap back and then when they showed the replay I thought I was wrong. That replay shows what I thought I saw originally. I think a lot of people owe Kos an apology Stumble, not just you.

I fail to see any right knee at all in that video so you guys are definitely seeing something Im not I guess.

It's mostly blocked by Mirgliotta's big booty but you see the tail end of it when he moves followed immediately by the missed left knee.

Still dont see it, you cant see his right knee at all until hes stepping backwards and throwing the left knee. I dont see any knee connecting with Koschecks face either. Are you sure he isnt just planting his right leg to throw the left knee? Thats the way I see it atleast.
