Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana still gives Liddell that to him as his "farewell fight." No real danger of getting KO'd by Tito, so it'd be a pretty safe fight for him and would give him the chance to go out with a W and his head held high.

Re: UFC 115 - Vancouver/June 12th, 2010
Overall I thought tonight card was very entertaining.
My thoughts:
- Tonight fights were great but, the refs were terrible (yet again). Yves Lavigne's call against Mac Danzig is one of the worst I've ever seen. I was actually surprised that Mac took the high road after the fight. Both him and Matt were pure class.
- That Keven Dornan guy should go back under whatever rock he came from. The Ricardo Funch vs. Claude Patrick and Mike Pyle vs. Jesse Lennox fights were completely horrible. The Funch fight was bad because of the up-kick warning and the Pyle fight because he was in a terrible position for that triangle. Lennox had to be out for at least 5-6 seconds before Pyle told Dornan he was out.
- The sky is the limit for Evan Dunham. Honestly, I never thought he would dominate Griffin like that. I don't know if I've ever seen a fighter the quality of Griffin give their opponent their back in all three rounds. I know the crowd was booing Dunham but, I don't see how anyone can fault him for not being able to finish. I'd love to see him fight someone like Clay Guida or Diego Sanchez (if he moves back down to LW) next.
- I also think that the sky's the limit for Rory MacDonald. I was extremely impressed with him for the first two rounds. I cannot believe he's only 20! That was crazy composure he showed after being rocked in the 3rd. I can't wait to see him fight again. Hopefully, he can recover and come back strong.
- Rothwell and Yvel was as entertaining as an heavyweight TUF fight. Which isn't saying much. I mean, I know their both big guys but, if either one had decent cardio they would have finished that fight.
- Kampmann just totally out classed Thiago. Which I was completely surprised by. I wonder who will be next for Kampmann?
- Barry vs. Cro Cop was great. I give Cro Cop all the credit in the world but, I really think Barry let it slip away because he was a little to over confident, IMO. I'd love to see Cro Cop vs. Big Nog next. As for Barry, I'd like to see him against someone like Todd Duffee or Meat Head.
- The Main Event ended up about like I expected. Chuck looked the best he has looked since he beat Wandy before he got caught. But in the end he was a little too overly aggressive for his own good and him and his glass jaw just can't throw caution to the wind like that anymore. Theres a big part of me that would love to see him retire but, the rest of me still wants to see him fight Tito. Damn his Glass chin. Also, I give Rich a lot of credit for pulling off the W with a broken arm. I did lose some respect for him because that last shot was totally uncalled for but, I've never fought before so I image that his adrenaline had the best of him. It's going to be real interesting to see who he gets next. I'd like to see him face Forrest or maybe a rematch with Wandy. If he wins a high caliber fight like that I wouldn't mind seeing him face one of the Top 4-5 LHW's (Rampage, Machida, Rashad, Randy) if he wins that, I would have no problem with him getting a title shot. Although, I honestly don't think it will ever come to that.
Like I said I was very entertained tonight. I'm definitely glad I purchased this PPV.
But I agree on most of your comments. I was highly impressed by McDonald and he has alot of potential.
Pat Barry seemed like he had too much respect for Cro Cop. Just didn't seem he had that hungry mentality, he usually does. Though I wanted Mirko to win anways. I liked how Cro Cop pounded on his legs against the cage, to soften them up. But I jumped up, in the end when VINTAGE Cro Cop came around and peppered a gassed Pat Barry.
My stomach wrenched seeing Lidell go down, though I chose Franklin. He was overagressive, when he though Franklin was hurt and paid for it. Maybe let him fight Ortiz, because I don't want to see him going out like that. Good job for Franklin, though. Forrest Griffin would be a nice matchup to see him fight. Though I think he would beat Griffin.Comment

Yeah he needs to retire before he suffers brain damage. Because let the truth be known, when you get KO'ed your brain gets injured. And when you start getting KO'ed often all of a sudden when in the past you never did, that is a sign your brain has been injured to the point that it can never heal 100% again.
I mean seriously that weak looking punch Franklin threw looked like something out of a WWE next match or something. Chuck had a good run, dominated, but now it is time to move on.
Chuck is becoming just like Jens Pulver. They both need to hang it up. Their mind is willing but their body can't take it no more. They need to open a gym and just live off their name for the rest of their life.Comment

Re: UFC 115 - Vancouver/June 12th, 2010
Surprisingly good card. This and 111 have been the 2 best ones this year. Some thoughts:
-Some bad reffing and judging yet again tonight. Lavigne stopping the Danzig fight, that ref in the Pyle fight having to be told that Lennox had taken a nap, somehow one of the judges gave Griffin the fight.
-Both Dunham and McDonald looked great tonight and I'm excited to see their fights in the future. I know some people are going to complain about the stoppage giving Condit the fight, but I wasn't confident in any of the judges giving it a 10-8 round resulting in a draw.
-Kampmann looked great tonight and I'd like to see him fight Dan Hardy next.
-Not really sure what to make of Cro Cop. Glad to see him win, but he did get dropped a couple of times and beating Barry on the ground isn't the hardest thing in the world. A fight with Nog would be something I would like to see.
-That was the best Chuck has looked in years for 4:50 of that fight, but then he walks into a KO. I hope its his last fight. I have no interest in a Chuck/Tito III, but maybe Dana would like to get him to ride off into the sunset on a win. As someone else said, a Franklin/Griffin fight would be something I would like to see.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: UFC 115 - Vancouver/June 12th, 2010
Condit/MacDonald fight was incredible, but I was pissed at the stoppage.
Yvel/Rothwell was just comedy.
Crocop/Barry was also a great fight. Couldn't believe Crocop had it in him to fight back in the next 2 rounds after getting rocked multiple times in the first.
I'd like to see Chuck fight Tito and then retire. For the sake of his health it might be best to retire now though.
I was 0-6 on picking fights tonight. I had Griffin, MacDonald, Yvel, Thiago, Barry and Liddell. Don't know how that's even possible. Good thing no money was on the line.Last edited by Gibbz; 06-13-2010, 01:17 AM.Comment

See what I can find...one time at UFC 96,he admitted to it: http://www.mmafighting.com/2009/03/1...-up-at-ufc-96/
Possibly at 98 but it wasn't aired: http://www.mmafighting.com/2009/05/2...r-kyle-bradle/
All I could think when Chuck was walking out...he must be thinking better Rich than Tito. IF that happend against Tito we'd never hear the end of it.Comment

Re: UFC 115 - Vancouver/June 12th, 2010
and to deft,
I'm not surprised at all. I'm a Kampmann fan though and knew he would win that fight. I'd just like to see him from time to time really put a lot more juice on his shot and try to knock folks into next week. His ground game is and has been for a while quite phenomenal.
Those pics are funny, but I really didn't like seeing chuck looking like a corpse last night. Like I said before the fight, his chin makes it impossible for him to fight like he used to. If he were to actually keep fighting, he'd have to strike conservatively and just take people down. Best move is to actually retire - and Dana needs to shut up about it. Last time Dana was saying 'you'll never see chuck again in the octagon' ...just shut it dude, it's not up to you (really) let chuck speak for himself and just shut your mouth. I'd like to see that kick that mangled franklin's arm though.
The rothwell fight was crazy. 3 or 4 full mounts in one round! they were basically exchanging mounts! I was watching with a friend who doesn't really follow MMA and he liked it, but he just kept sayiing "brain damage" lol
IMO pat barry gave cro cop the fight. I felt that way in the 1st round after the 1st knockdown. He didn't want to finish him. He has too much adoration and respect for cro cop. I think maybe he wanted to win, but he really didn't want to finish him - his idol and legend etc. Pat would have wrecked him imo if he came in mean spirited. Still, it was cool to see cro cop put some punches together and get some old glory back.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: UFC 115 - Vancouver/June 12th, 2010
Pretty good night of fights last night.
I have to say when Chuck went down my heart sunk just a little. I've never even been a big Chuck fan but that was kinda sad to watch. IDK if he'll be willing to turn in his gloves or not, but his last 5 fights or so should be telling enough to him that it's time. I won't be surprised to see 1 last fight with Tito though.
Also, nicely done by Rich Franklin battling through a broken arm. I know some people were turned off by that last punch he hit on Chuck but there's no way Rich was trying to be dirty or anything, he was just trying to finish the fight. He's one of the classiest guys in the sport so he should get a pass on that.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
