sure...he's not who I had in mind though when I was writing that. The recipe is don't initiate striking, and only counter and counter take down - this includes not going for a shoot as you think as an attack is comming just like how maia got caught with that knee. Later in the fight you can do a bit of striking ...honestly I'm not sure how much gas silva has - he could do a conference on energy conservation

I think you take him down countering him and make it count...in the later rounds depending on who the fighters is imo you could even go for the ko, but in a sneaky way. Maia really hit him hard once and I think it phased silva a bit - silva even mentioned his surprise after the fight. Maia had the right attitude though which was important for him. No fear, trying to win. Maia had been ktfo by nate and didn't give up a la forrest when he knew he was outclassed...instead he was trying to hit Silva in the last 2 rounds only able to see out of one eye. Punching from his knee's.
I think the next guy should look to get Silva tired, frustrating him wouldn't hurt either.
you know what though, I don't like Sonnen's striking and I don't like his submission defence now that I think of it.
but after this one...who should be afraid? If you're not lunging in, he's not going to strike too much because he's commited to counter on 95% of his strikes. he threw like 7 or 8 strikes in the last round! one was a lead leg side kick to the lead leg knee of maia ...seriously? last round and you're throwing that strike???? to a guy with one eye and one of the worst strikers to challenge for a title???
I think if Sonnen loses, it's to a sub.
I still think Sonnen is a big underdog though, I can't trust him to come in with the right gameplan and execute it..I see him make too many mistakes and just covering up against the cage which is where anderson gets excited and throws most of his combo's/barage's.
