I dont think anyone actually believed Dana was going to put him on a prelim but at the same time he laid the gauntlet down for this fight as well so we will see how it plays out.

Might just be one of the weakest main events the UFC has put up in some time.

But at this point...I want Silva to get beat by someone...ANYONE.

Lost a fair amount of respect for the guy when he fought Maia. When you have a chance to finish a guy...FINISH HIM! (lol...Mortal Kombat referance...not intentional)...Dont run like a sally.

People said the same thing about Kobe when he got into trouble years back, but people still paid to see him. Even after Mike Tyson bit Holyfields ear off, he still sold out seats.

People in america have very short term memory. As long as you winning, they seem to forget everything else very quick. Once he KO's Sonnen, everybody going to be on his jock once again, riding hard.

They should have put on another title fight in another division and made this co-main going first and the other one after.

When is the Brock fight rumored to happen?

Brock's return and Silva on the same night would, hands down, sell PPVs, in my opinion.

Brock/Carwin is UFC 116 and Penn/Edgar II is UFC 118.

Ah, I knew Penn/Edgar II was 118 'cause I decided not to try and get tickets for it (would've been shelling out whatever was required to see Brock/Carwin)...didn't realize that fight was at 116 though.

I'm going out on a limb and saying Sonnen wins by split decision. I get the feeling Silva is close to retiring, and might just fight this one into another decision, and I don't see the judges being very kind in this one.

This was always going to be the main event...esp. with the trash talking and build up. Dana was just mad when he said those things after the Silva/Maia fight.

I'm giving Sonnen wayyyy more of a chance than some on here...his top game is ridiculous and if he gets Anderson on the ground, I think he'll give him fits. He completely dominated Marquardt on the ground and he's no slouch. Sonnen's wrestling is spectacular too so I do believe he can get Anderson to the ground. I think it's a very intriguing fight.

Remember everyone thought Penn was going to walk right through Edgar and look what happened...I think this could be similar.
