Re: Official Career Mode Thread
Lost my first 4 fights on advanced in the LHW division.. I went on a 5 fight win streak before losing again and am now sitting at 10-5. It's a really deep mode. Other than stats decaying so fast you are almost forced to spam your sparring sessions so you can reach those checkpoints, it's amazing. -
Re: Official Career Mode Thread
Ups and downs. I went from 16-6 to 25-6. Win #23 was for the LHW title, and my past two wins have been title defenses. I bank attribute points and only spend them when I can get an attribute to 30/50/70. Probably half of my attributes are still at 30, with a few at 70 and a few at 50. I don't mess around with getting the attributes above 70 because it isn't necessary.
I play on advanced and I'm finding it to be way too easy once your character is somewhat strong. I made a striker and every single fight has ended in a Flash KO/TKO.Comment

Re: Official Career Mode Thread
I haven't been playing much but I am on the 2nd setting (Experienced I believe) and am 5-0 (rather new). I have just been sparring and conditioning to keep up with the decay. I throw in a camp before every fight and it's rather hard to get a few of the things I want. It's hard to become a well rounded fighter with the way they did things. Not only that, being a ground game guy is rather difficult with how gameplay is. I think I may not touch the game until they patch it.
Question: Do camps matter in terms of which one to go to? Obviously different camps have different skills but besides that....are there "easier" camps? How does the conditioning/fatigue work?"If you ain't first, you're last" ~Ricky BobbyComment

Re: Official Career Mode Thread
I have not gotten the game yet as I was waiting to see the OS Reviews (i'm very glad now after reading the impressions thread) but was wondering some things about Career Mode:
How many years before you are forced to retire?
I heard you start with a very low OVR Rating (14 ovr), so how is the progression? Do you hit your Peak just as you are about to retire or is it realistic in that you are at your Peak somewhere in the Middle of your career (just as you get into Title Contention)?
Is it true that there are not "CPU Generated Fighters" like last year? I heard this leads to unrealistic PPV Cards that are STACKED (even the undercards are marquee fights)Comment

Re: Official Career Mode Thread
Decaying stats can be annoying. What I do there is in manual sparring I just spam take down. I go in, punch once or twice to get the CPU to punch, then take down...get up...repeat.
Always get a high number of points there.
My guy is 6-0 on experienced (2nd difficulty.) tried advanced but i'm not ready for that yet. Lost every time the CPU puts me in a Muay Thai Clinch.
Learning moves can be hard, especially the submissions.Comment

Re: Official Career Mode Thread
I wish every person on the net complaining about stat decay and how hard it is would read this post. It's realistic, we all hear about high ranked collegiate wrestlers have to go back to training their wrestling after a period of time.
The game would be way to easy if stat's didnt decay. IMO every career i go through doesn't need to end as me being the 7 time defending world champion.
it's all about finding the right balance of sparring, training, camps and rest.
i hope they don't modify that if any because of all of the bitching they have received.__________________________________________

Obtaining the points is the REAL problem, if you dont do well in training, you get nothing...It shouldnt be like that..
Honestly, the whole way of learning moves and getting points needs to be redone because right now it is a chore, but I dont think the stat decay is a step in the wrong direction..Last edited by Jukeman; 05-28-2010, 12:14 PM.Comment

As for the regular skills - they decay way too fast. So what if I didn't up my "kick defense" for a few weeks? I understand that maybe in real life I might get a little rusty, but stats will drop from 20 to 0 like it's nothing.
It's completely unrealistic as it is. Stats decay way too fast.Comment

It's not realistic at all. I've never seen someone's speed just suddenly go from good to pathetic in 3 weeks because they didn't "train" their speed. Cardio - ok, Strength - ok... Those I can understand.

Re: Official Career Mode Thread
No.
I've fought 22 fights and I haven't had a single stat decay since my 4th or 5th fight. Although right now, my striking offence and defense is at 50. My take-down, submission (d only) and ground grapple offences and defenses are all around 40. And the rest are all at 30.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
