The problem about instant KO's
For me the most devestating thing about the game has to be that, THQ has mistakenly thought, that instant ko's are fun. Ko's are fun, when you have to fight for it, when you see the opportunity of a rocked opponent and go in for a kill. This has allways been the most fun part in any fighting game. Not only in fight night or other boxing games, but also in other fighting games. Think about Stret fighter. The mist energeting part was, when you or your opponent were very low on energy and the adrenalin was pumping because you knew, that you were only one punch away from getting the KO. Not the KO itself, but your ability to get the finish, thats what makes ko's fun.

Re: The problem about instant KO's
It's probably extremely difficult to find a good balance with the flash KO's. They happen in MMA so they need them in the game but you shouldn't get a flash KO with a jab just because your opponent has a lowered energy bar.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
Instant KO have to happen that is mma.Todd duffe seven second KO,Nate Marq and Demian Maia,James Irvin and Houston Alexander,Paul Daley and Dustin Hazlett,Forrest Griffin and Anderson Silva and I can go on and on.
THQ is not marketing instant KO it is part of MMA.I would like to see more TKO and Rocked state but i can't complain about KO.I have not been one shot in first round with a real player yet more than couple of times.I defend my head most of my fights make it in the second or third.Which say to me the AI needs to be tuned up to defend itself better.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
The instant KOs don't bother me nearly as much as other aspects of the game, but I will admit that it would be far more gratifying to have to work a bit more for the KO, as the OP said.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
Getting rocked and then getting your lights knocked out is so rewarding (even tho I was the victim)
The CPU hit me with a big uppercut and I went into a rocked moment, nowhere to run because my back was inches away from the cage, dude then hit me with a right hook and KO'ed me....THIS IS HOW KO's SHOULD BE, that one punch BS should be very rare...The whole event happen less then 3 seconds and it look beautiful!!!
Tune this THQ please!!!
More Rocked moments, less Instant KO'sComment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
I think I've seen more left handed jab KO's than I have seen superman right handers in this game. I think it's just weird to see what type of punches are causing these KO's. Fortunately, I do believe this is something that will be patched. I only hope they patch this game quicker than last year. Last year, there was the glitch that allowed people to quit after they lost a fight, without receiving a loss. It took them over two or three months to finally patch that online glitch, as enormous and seemingly easy as it would be to fix.
PLEASE, get the word to the devs to iron out this issue and get it patched up asap, so we can spread the news on how awesome this game is otherwise to others.Comment

Yesterday I've been knocked out by a Body shot, not TKO but KO.Ref stopped the fight with me going to the ground. It was really niceComment

Yeah I rarely ever see jabs and the ones I do see are not powerful at all.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
I do get your point. The entire game seems like one haymaker after another. It reminds me of Fight Night Round 3. That aside, I really can't believe this product left the door with these KO's like they currently are. I'm now 50 matches in with only 1 non-KO finish. I have yet to make it into the second round.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
The problem is for me at least, that I do not enjoy KOing people. As it currently is, it just doesn't make you proud to KO someone. Here it is where you have to think about why all sorts of punches bare the same KO opportunity. A perfectly timed jab on a damaged(not rocked) opponent should not be a KO, but an opportunity for a TKO or something.Comment

Re: The problem about instant KO's
For anyone considering it, I think I may have a way to circumvent the whole issue with our games losing value because we already redeemed our online code. Bring the game back to wherever you got it, stating the disc won't play or something. Then, exchange it for a new copy. Shazaam! New game, new code, and the product is worth $5 more when you go to resell it (or $10 more in the case of an EA game, since they charge more for their codes).
I'm not saying I'm going to do it, but I've thought about it many times after seeing KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after TKO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO after KO.
That is not spam. That is just a real count of my experiences with how my fights have ended for the past 37 fights.Comment
