Agreed, even if Brock won tonight the thought of him being the clear #1 over Fedor would still be hilarious.

        Lesnar's not even a top 5 HW, nevermind #1.

I just let those people have their fun and moment of glory. There was no point in arguing MMA with people that thought Brock was the best ever, it just ended up pissing me off.

Agreed. I got so tired that hearing that Lesnar was REALLY big, or an All American wrestler as justification of him being the world's best. It was like being back in the UFC 1 days. I guess his fan's just ignored the huge gaping holes in his game. Being a pure wrestler or pure striker does not work anymore in MMA. Matter of fact it hasn't worked in almost 10 years. So when Lesnar met someone who is highly skilled on the ground as well as the feet he got just absolutely mauled.

Just because the guy lost 1 fight doesnt mean he isn't a top 5 HW. He lost to a guy who is one of the bests if not the best out there right now. Go look at the competition he's been fighting and how much he has improved each fight. The guy still doesnt have a ton of fights yet so now he needs to go back, watch the tape, see where he needs to work on and get some guys in his gym to teach him that stuff. He says he trains on his weaknesses well he needs to go back and see that his standup is not elite right now and that needs imrpovement.

It doesnt mean the guy can't come back and redeem himself. For a few moments there he had Cain on he heels and if he wins there and we dont see what happened after Cain calmed down and started to take over. Then do you say he's a top 5 HW because he won and we never saw how it really ended? A fight like this can be good for him because it shows he can't just go in, bull-rush and overpower the guy. He needs to learn from that. But he's beaten some of the top guys out there, he's going to get better (if he stays focused on the UFC and ignores this WWE crap) and i think we'll see him get the belt back at some point.

If you dont think he's top 5 then who is? Just like people can't overreact when he wins you guys can't overreact when he loses. Its MMA, nobody is unbeatable. Cain Velasquez will eventually lose, Fedor lost, Carwin lost, it happens. You learn from it and get better but with the guys he was put up against right from the start and how he's improved, shows that he's a top 5 HW.

I acknowledge that Brock has some good wins under his belt.

The thing is, Brock's last two performances have just been... Embarrassing.

Turtling up, running away, falling down, stumbling and flipping around the ring are things you just don't see in a professional MMA fight. It's especially pitiful to see it from someone who most considered the #1 HW in the world. It's not about losing, you're right everybody loses, it's about how he lost.

He can improve but he has a long ways to go if he ever wants to be champion again.

He definitely needs to work on his reaction to getting hit. Hes shown he has a incredible tolerance for taking a beating and not losing his senses, but every time he gets hit, even if its not a shot that hurts him, he reacts in a way that leaves him open to more shots, and a half decent striker will take advantage of that.

This. He has a great chin, he just doesnt like to get hit. He also needs to work on keeping people down and not letting them scramble right back up.

Not that it matters, but having a good chin yet not liking to be hit [not even by that hard of strikes] doesn't equate to me.

I mean if you're talking he doesn't get KO'd easily then yeah, I guess he has a good chin.

From what we've seen the past two fights any time he gets hit he gets dazed out or buckles. Was SMH when he break danced across the octagon. I mean Shane didn't really hit him initially, mostly Brock blocked and took away a lot of power.. Cain didn't hit him with any slobber knockers... Brock just gets disoriented by strikes.

I may be completely wrong about the meaning of having a good chin, but it doesn't seem like he has any chin at all.

No chin is someone like Bisping or Chuck, who take one power shot and the lights go out. We've still never seen Brock get truly KO'd.

Chuck isn't a good comparison. His chin is gone, but he sure as hell had one. And Bisping has taken some serious shots. Does he have one made of granite? No way. But it ain't glass either. Arlovski is fine china though.

I've said it many times before that I don't buy in to the whole chin thing.

But if it exists or not doesn't matter, the point of fighting is to NOT get hit in the face repeatedly. I Think Brock's bad reaction is the fact that he doesn't know WHAT to do most of the time in his standup, getting into unfamiliar situations will send anyone in to a panic mode. Right now he is just too uncomfortable in that part of fighting.

I've watched the fight numerous times trying to break it down more. At the beginning of the fight, after the initial crazy burst, Brock settles down and does a lot of things right and it's clear he had been working on that part of his game. Also he does many of the things that worked well for him in the past and has lead him to dominating victories, Cain is just a better fighter in every aspect of MMA and Lesnar's physical tools weren't enough to overcome that.
