Not up to him. It's the Nevada State Athletic Commision. Same thing with the refs.

        Rosales (48-46 Edgar): Edgar takes R2, R3, R4 and R5. Maynard takes R1, 10-8.
        Trowbridge (48-46 Maynard): Maynard takes R1, 10-8, R3 and R5. Edgar takes R2 and R4.
        Morse Jarman (47-47): Maynard takes R1, 10-8, and R5. Edgar takes R2, R3 and R4.

Really don't see how they have round 5 to Maynard.

I saw 3 & 5 as being either way, that's why I like the draw. Can't really say either of them got screwed. As pointed out earlier it was going to be contraversial no matter who won. Nobody won.

Rosales needs some glasses. With that said, a draw was fair.

Yeah, can't disagree with a draw. It's just that it effs with the plan of giving Pettis the next shot.

I'm just going to assume Dana will do Edgar/Maynard 2 in the next few months and then give Pettis the winner. Seems like the most fair way to handle this.

Rosales basically saved Frankie because if she gives round 5, like the other two judges did, to Maynard then Greg wins and takes that belt.

see but I had round 5 10-10 and think it was the closest round. Round 3 seems to be the one in contention...I however had edgar slight edge it out. I didn't think at all maynard won it while watching the fight live (cheering for him too)

I think a draw is fair though even though I had edgar by 1 round because it was tight AND edgar keeps the belt...the only real robbery would have been giving it to gray imo, since he obviously didn't decisively win.

Now I'm just looking forward to the feb ppv.

Ohh Ive got no problem with a draw for as much as I cant stand Frankie, Im only pointing out how close it was to a Maynard victory. UFC has an interesting problem now though as I dont see how you have Pettis fight anyone other then Frankie because of him being the WEC champ and wanting to unify the belts now. I saw someone mentioned having him fight George but then what happens if George wins, is he the new WEC champ and then he fights to unify it? Is it a non title fight and thus a waste of time? Or do you basically hope everyone forgets about the WEC belt at this point? You have to have Frankie fight Pettis and give Maynard the winner of George/Siver I guess. Maynard doesnt deserve an immediate rematch, he had his shot and now has to earn another imo.

CompuStrike had Edgar outlanding Maynard in round 3, but Maynard did have a takedown but didn't really do much with it and then Frankie tried for a guillotine as the round ended. Probably need to see 3 and 5 again since both of them were close.

If Edgar did outland Maynard in round 3 then I'd be fine with the judges giving it to him since I'd favor a striking advantage over a takedown with no offense from it.

smdh, can never get this UFC post-fight coverage up and running straight. How hard is that UFC?

                          From Ariel Helwani:

It seems like the general consensus within the organization is Pettis gets Edgar next.

                            10-8 Maynard

                            Edgar 48 Gray 46

I seem to be in the minority. Rounds 3 & 5 were extremely close to me. I wish I could watch round 3 again. When I heard the result, I thought it made sense. For me , Maynard did not win the fight. I think Frankie & Pettis; Maynard & Sotiropoulos next. Pettis earned his title shot by beating Henderson. Gray had his shot and didn't win the title.

i agree with you and yankee however I think maynard shouldn't have to win 2 or straight, he wins his next fight he should be right there....part of the dilemma is that if pettis were to beat edgar and maynard beats whoever, do you do a rematch or allow maynard a shot at pettis?

if frakie were to win, I would say maynard gets his rematch after only one fight.
