I picked it up at a red box. So far I'm liking the game. The cpu is a little too ESPish on advance as far as striking goes but I have been enjoying putting people up against the cage and just gnp the crap out of them. Career mode is substantially better. I have to say its better than the demo from what I have seen so far. I honestly don't mind the submission game mainly because at least its transparent and I can see why I lost. The only issue I have right now is the online community. I played online 6 times yesterday. I played against GSP and Silva all six times. The first five matches my opponent quit the game as soon as I took it to the ground. The last match I was KO'd by Silva using Liddell after the 30th spinning back fist caught me. That's about all I will play it online because that was not fun, but at least the cpu puts up a pretty good fight this year.

Yeah it is, they had Nate motion capture their stance. When I play as either Diaz I hit the right stick up a bunch of times while I fight because it looks like their signature taunt.

I didn't throw a punch the first 30 seconds ago b/c I wasn't sure if an animation was stuck or not lol.

Completely different. Possible to sub at almost any point in the fight now. The visual display isn't the greatest but ratings and position seem to actually matter. I think the quickest submission I have this year is about a minute into the first round.

So you don't have to waste 2 rounds trying to wear a guy down without knocking him out, and then kill your hand rotating the stick?

No nothing like that anymore. You can improve your chances with better positioning but you can submit a guy within a minute in the first round now. The new mini game doesn't kill your hand at all either.

I was really frustrated with UFC 2010's submission system, because I couldn't get any tapouts, despite 48 of my 75 online wins on 2009 coming by submission.

This year's sub system is perfect IMO. I've submitted a lot of guys on advanced, and human opponents as well. On the other side of the coin, I've lost by submission a few times as well.

I never experienced any physical pain with the old system, although I used my thumb and not the palm as a lot of people did.

Jon Fitch might just be my favorite fighter to use. I was able to keep Nick Diaz on his back for a whole round while also avoiding his BJJ. What's funny about that is, I didn't even win the round. WTF?

Also, Diaz's stance is too damn distracting lol.

I wish I could figure out what you guys are doing to be so good on the ground. I've had a few matches where I was able to put in some work, but most of the time I'm just getting transitioned or kicked off immediately. I guess I need to hit the practice mode or something.

Patience. I'm a lot more patient with when to transition or strike. I also use a lot more minor transitions than major. I Also try to target the body and legs a lot when I know I'm going to try and take the fight to the ground.

I fought Royce twice on Advanced in the Pride GP and he didn't attempt a takedown either time. Boxed the entire fight until I knocked him out. Unfortunate, although I really do like the game.

Yeah BJJ fighters really don't play like BJJ fighters. They too damn passive and don't attack with submission moves enough times like they should be doing. Especially guys with a high submission rating.

I have watched over 100 CPU vs CPU fights now with high rated BJJ guys. They are way too passive. They aren't aggressive, they are counter BJJ guys in the sense majority of their submission attempts are TRANSITION submission counters.

That in itself is unrealistic. They should be looking to attack off their back or attack on top way more often. The most submission attempts I seen in a fight was 9 and that was Maia vs Sonnen in this game. Maia is 89 submission offense, Sonnen is 65 submission defense but yet Maia couldn't submit Sonnen ?

I see BJJ guys try to stand and bang way too much for my taste. Butterfly guard and rubber guard gets passed way too easy and too quick too. The reversals also need to be toned down.

On average it is about 65 to 100 reversals per a game per a 3 round fight. That is is way too many. Should be more like 4 to 10 per a fight.

It was never so much physical pain *although I did bust my palms open if I played too long* but more about durability on my controller.

I went through 3 with UFC2009.
