The gameplay is solid, the roster is fairly deep, Pride Mode is great, and Advanced/Sim provides some good battles. I think you should check it out myself.
That's good to hear, Pappy. I was hoping the CPU would be capable of putting up a good challenge, and I'm very happy that The Shine is no more.

Finished my career 46-2. Never lost my UFC belt or WFA belt and won the Pride Grand Prix a second time.

GMSS is beasting at the game. I just created myself to start out my career. Hopefully it doesn't take me too long to run through it.

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 3 Impressions Thread

I bought this game on Saturday night because I enjoyed the demo and what you all had to say about the game. This is the first UFC game I have played and I think it is awesome so far. However, I am a bit overwhelmed with the career mode. I am also getting destroyed by fighters that are rated higher then me. (I understand this is more just me needing to practice)

If you guys could help me out with some questions in career mode that would be great!

          1. Do you do the training sessions in Auto or Manual? (I have been doing auto because I am terrible at most of the mini games) Can you make a great fighter by doing this?
          2. What training sessions are best to do? Or should you just spread them out and do all of them?
          3. Does anybody use the "gameplan" feature? It uses up one of my practices for a fight so I haven't been using them.
          4. With the camp training sessions, do you all use these alot? Do you "learn" a bunch of new moves or just learn a couple and build them up to level 3? How should I go about using this feature?

Also, just a few questions about fighting in general. I feel like I get to caught up in trying to box players. It works fine against bad fighter but when I play somebody better I get destroyed.

          1. What is your primary fighting style? (Standing, ground and pound, clinch, mix of everything)
          2. What is the most important attribute to build for a fighter? (Strength, speed, stamina, footwork)
          3. How often do you perform submissions?
          4. Do you use the amateur or pro control for changing positions on the ground and in clinch? (I am terrible at this!)

Any help on these questions would be GREATLY appreciated! I know I have a lot of questions but I really want to get into this game because it seems awesome!

            1. You have to do a pretty good mix of training. You can't pick the same ones over and over again, if you do, you will get NEGATIVE RESULTS in a quite a few areas.

            2. I auto trained everything.

            3. I never did camp sessions outside of the mandatory one you have to do. Big waste of time.

            4. Game plan is a waste of time too since it make you go DOWN in quite a few areas.

            5. Far as most important stat for a fighter, that solely depends on your fighters base, such as wrestler, boxer, kick boxer, sambo, etc.

            6. Far as submissions.....That is a personal choice of how good you are at doing them. Makes no sense to keep doing them if you suck at the mini game.

            7. Pro control.....

            8. Go to style once again depends on the type of fighter you are building and his base. There is no one size fits all.

I must say.......I really LOVE how interactive the cage is. Nothing more awesome then to pull somebody back down when then trying to wall walk up.

That right there just adds so much realism and strategy to the game.

I might lose 8 points for standing strikes, but gaining 12 points for takedown/ground grapple/submissions and make you a very dominant GnP guy. Same for going with strikes.

Lets say I have 80 take down and 79 sub fighting a guy with 80 D in both, those extra 12 point making me a 92 will help me pull of the win. Something you need to do when facing a strong striker with great take down like Chuck was. Nothing worse then not being able to drop a great striker as a GnP guy.

Thank you Gotmadskillzson. What did your fighter end up ranked at the end of your career using the auto train?

Also, it would seem to me the camp stuff is pretty important because of all the new moves you can learn. Also, each move can go up to a level 3. Do you feel it isn't very important to level up your fighters moves? I do realize you can only have one move for each particular button command so it is pointless to learn multiple "strong right hand" moves since you can only use one. So, I try to just pick a few strikes and submissions and level them up... I am not sure if leveling up is very important though...

Yea I agree gameplan is worthwhile against certain guys. I only needed it a couple in my career but when I did it helped. I faced Mark Munoz the fight before my title fight. My guy is a pure submission BJJ expert, my hands are extremely lack luster. So I didn't want to stand and bang with mark, but on the ground I knew I had a big shot at beating him. Because I have many moves from off my back that make my guy very dangerous anywhere on the ground. Well I used a submission gameplan and easily tapped Mark out. Hell I am a 89 submission offense BEFORE the 12 point increase, with a maxed out 100 submission offense don't attempt to go to the ground with my guy. Then you see a 12 point rise in ground grapple also and those I am 84 and 85. So you are talking a ground guy with high 90s everywhere on the ground but a horrible lacking stand of game in the 60s.

                    Gameplan works when needed

Can you still get a super CAF just by simulating all of your fights?

Yes. Just remember to cancel out of every fight you lose and run the sim again. In order to create the super CAF quicker you need to win fights in order to get more fred.

Leveling to me is extremely important. I learned the Elbow from top guard and used it for several fights. It would take many of these to land to open up a cut and took a while to do massive damage. I upgraded it to a max level 3 and I took Anderson Silva down in our fight. I landed 4 of these elbows in the first 2:00 of the first round. The 4th one landed and caused a flash KO.

At the end.....my over all was a 87, ranked number 1, defended my title 16 times. Longest winning streak was 18 twice. My career record was 46-2 on expert.

When I copied my fighter, his over all shot up to 97.

I didn't learn any moves outside of the mandatory one. Didn't level up any moves either in career mode. There was no point to it. In my career because of my speed, which was at 85 for majority for my career as a heavyweight, that is all I needed was speed.

I had 20 KO's, 10 submission wins and the rest TKO victories. Only 4 fights in my whole 48 fight career went passed the first round. My only 2 loses came from KO, Kongo and Rothwell.

I submitted Mir, Nog, Struve, Goodridge, Coleman, CroCop, Shogun, Evans all with the basic level 1 armbar and RNC.

Speed kills......I KO'ed a lot of them with counter punches.

                              Fastest Win: R1 :59 Submission

Forgot about that, fastest submission for me in all 3 UFC games.
