i liked ranked matches in the beginning but i was completely new to the ufc undisputed series.. then i learned a bit more abt the game and started to find those ranked matches more and more riddiculous and not enjoyable. for now offline matches against the computer are giving me the most since im not quite good enough to compete against most sim gamers which are usually pretty good at what they are doing..
until now i used to fight mostly on advanced btw but i became virtually unbeatable on that difficulty so im working on switching to expert which is hands down a big step.

How are you doing so well on advanced? Granted I've only had the game for 1 week, but I have a lot of problems with pressure guys who punch a lot and then take me to the ground. Example: Yesterday I played as Overeem (me)vs. Lesner (cpu). Lesner was rushing me and striking repeatedly, but then when I'd strike back, he'd take me to the ground. No matter how much I pushed back on the right stick, Reem would still wind up on his back. Then when I'd feint, then throw the knee, I'd stun Lesnar while trying to take me down. But he'd just get back up and continue to destroy me.

But then my next match I picked Reem again and destroyed Junior Dos Santos. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated? Like how the hell do I beat Machida, when I'm playing as Rashad Evans???

Just had 3 great *** fights with Matt! First was a VERY back and forth fight between Shogun (him) vs Machida, that he won 49-46. Then I chose Rashad, and got dominated by Shogun, and for the last match, Rashad (me) vs Shogun, sound strategy earned me a convincing win.

You just have to be smart. Against Machida, use Rashad's wrestling and mix it up.
Maybe use feints to set up takedowns/strikes as well.

well I got the game on the 17th of February since then I gave been quite busy all the time so I couldn't practise as much as I'd have liked. as I said before I didn't have any experience with ufc games and I haven't been an mma fan for that long either so my knowledge not only abt the game but also about the sport was really limited. I basically bad had to start at 0 in either way, learning. what the sport is all abt and what the game is.
I have to say its all just been practise and reading certain forums concerning tactics so far. I really did the tutorial over and over again until I got familiar with controls on the other hand I have spending much time in the practise mode, learning striking and grappling separately and playing with high rated guys against lowered rated after switching the difficulty. that for sure helped me a lot.
I really think if you just keep playing all will come automatically with time. for me even experienced was a big challenge at the very beginning, then after I was doing better there it was a pretty big step to advanced, just as it now is to expert. I still don't really get what the clinch is all abt but I guess its just a matter of time and in the end you don't even realise what you are doing differently when you are becoming better.

Don't forget to use light strikes, utilizing the jab is quite effective in a taller fighter.

I'm having a terrible time transitioning out of clinches with my CAF. It seems like the second I'm in clinch and up against the cage I cannot get out of it. I've tried every transition and tried beefing up my takedown and clinch moves/stats but still I keep getting destroyed.

I'm a relative newbie to the series so I just get frustrated and start button mashing LOL. Any tips?

I agree with this. I have a lot of success using jabs and straights in the early rounds. I win a lot on advanced, and I find that you can't just come out wild or you will pay. Also, if you can anticipate a takedown and land a knee, its a fight changer. You just have to grind a bit, especially on simulation energy. its a cumulative approach, but it has worked for me.

Thanks for all of the advise. I've stepped my game up a lot since using some of the strategy here. I've also learned to use the quick dash jab. Basically dashing in and then jabbing. This will cause your opponent to lose balance and then he's open for another shot. This was working for me alot with most fighters like Mark Haminick and Anthony Pettis and with Anderson Silva it was damn near unstoppable. The cpu started blocking high and I just went to work with body and leg kicks. I still suck at timing reversals on the ground and can't get a submission to save my life, but I'm winning by KO/TKO in almost every fight recently on Advanced Sim.
