6-1 in the UFC, Gustov is definitely 1B to Hendo.

Guys get shots all the time that aren't necessarily "ready" or "deserving".

LHW is nowhere near the strongest division. 155 and 170 are the top 2 and its not even close. LHW has a few elite guys at the top, but not much else when you get outside of the top 8 fighters or so.

I do agree though that its ridiculous to think JDS would run over Jones. It's not like JDS would have a huge size advantage over Jones, and the competition Jones fought at 205 is much better than what's at heavyweight. I'd pick Jones no hesitation against any HW aside from JDS and Cain, which would be toss ups IMO.

170 got strong seemingly out of nowhere and LHW is dropping rapidly simply because Jon Jones is that damn good. So it's a bit unfair in that regard to judge LHW.. Jones is just making everyone look awful.

Cancel the the fight with Sonnen, tell Hendo to step aside, and give us a Silva/Jones superfight at 205.

Lol. I think Sonnen will be Anderson's last opponent of his career.

Hendo is one of my favorite fighters, but I don't think he has anything for Bones. If he does it will have to be in the first or second round because once it gets to the third Hendos' gas tank will be running on fumes.

I'd rather see Jones vs. Anderson Silva or Bones move up to HW, so that the LHW division would become competitive again.

Jones fought well enough to retain his belt, but in my opinion the most impressive performance of the night was Rory MacDonald.

Jones still needs to fight Gustaf and Hendo before moving up, so the HW talk is a bit much right now. Just my .02

Now a superfight with Silva? That would be nice in my book. To Sonnen's expense.

Rory is a phenom and he looked amazing out there, but I'm still not sold on exactly how good Che Mills is supposed to be. I think Jones shutting out a guy like Rashad Evans was a bigger feat.

So more than likely Bones will fight Hendo and then probably Gustafsson before the year is up and then what? Is there anyone else I'm forgetting that is close to challenging at LHW?

If he gets past those two guys, he would have effectively cleared out the division..

I love Gustafsson as a fighter, but in my opinion, he needs to at least get a win (or two) over one of the top 7-8 guys before getting a title shot. He's been impressive in his last few fights, but when your signature wins are against Thiago Silva and The Janitor, I need to see a few more W's.

Yeah Gustafason needs to beat somebody on the caliber of Machida, Bader or something FIRST.

Hendo is looking like an old man on Fuel right now.
