Doesn't Kimbo train with American Top Team?
If that's true, I'm guessing his trainer wouldn't allow him to skip his road work?
How is it that Kimbo was so gassed after grappling for 2 min.

Don't get me wrong, I'm gassed just typing this post. But I'm not training for an MMA fight.

Kimbo probably isn't training much. His knees are shot, so I doubt he is running.

DADA probably didn't train much at all. He cut 40lbs to make weight, so I doubt he was prepared to fight. It's just old guys carrying a lot of weight.

Question is how bad did Bellator set itself back and make MMA a laughing stock, I know UFC has done freak shows fights before but at least someone like James Toney was a legit athlete and not some soup can fighter

Honestly, probably did very little to turn people on/off to Bellator. The ratings will likely be decent and I'm sure the upcoming cards will feature guys like Bendo and Rampage, which will be a positive.

I don't think those that follow MMA were taking last night's show seriously, anyway. I know I wasn't and yes, I sure as heck tuned in to see the last two fights, which were entertaining in their own way.

I read today something like 2Million views during the Kimbo-Dada segment. So not really sure if that will be good or bad going forward for them.

Its great for them. Bellator only cares about TV ratings and people continue to watch these fights.

                Re: The Official Bellator Thread

At first I was in the "this just set MMA back 10 years" crowd but after reading responses to it and thinking further, the bottom line is Bellator is held to a different standard than UFC and there is a big market (obviously, just look at the numbers) for fights like this.

I don't expect Kimbo or Dada 5000 to be cardio champions but man, to gas out like that so quickly, yikes.

There aren't many UFC cards with 2 million views.

+750,000 is usually good for them.. Will see what happens in the coming weeks with the non-freak show fights.

Henderson is a big one but the Mitrione signing seems like a mistake. Best case scenario he beats someone like Kongo and gets KO'd by Fedor later this year.

This may have gotten lost in all the Conor talk this week, but Henderson is fighting tonight, card start 1 hour earlier at 8PM on Spike.

MVP is normally entertaining, could be a fun night of fights for bellator.

Interesting toe hold finish from MVP. Nice to see colorful shorts for a change.

He likes to show off, but he backs it up. Out of no where with the sub. I was looking around why is he tapping did he hurt himself? When is the last time there was a toe hold in a major MMA org fight?

Keep raising his competition. I wonder what his contract has left.

Nice to see ufc isn't the only one with bad judging. Can't remember the last time I've seen a toe-hold, not sure if I ever have. My mma knowledge is basic so there is a good chance I've seen it before and didn't recognize it.
