Yeah but he didn't have much choice; if they run Silva/Weidman II in Feb. it may do less buys being on SB weekend. The end of the year is a better date and with a solid co-main event, you could see close to a million buys.

They had options. Run Silva/Weidman in March. Push Rousey/Tate back to Feb. Rousey/Tate was gonna do 250k-400 whenever it airs even if it was on SB wknd.

Also, Silva/Weidman 2 was going to do 1 million even if they put Mike Pierce v. Jacob Volkmann as the co-main. The reason Rousey is still on the card is Dana wants this card to surpass UFC 100's buy rate of 1.5

March would've been too long, imo, to go between fights. I speak for myself here but I want to see top-level guys in the cage more than 2x a year. Going 8 months from the first fight to the rematch is an awfully long time with no fights for either guy in between.

Silva last fought in October 2012 before the Weidman fight and has averaged 2 fights a year for the last 5 yrs. I'm not saying March is what they shouldve done. I'm just saying that they had options.

Also putting it in March opens up the opportunity to have the fight at Cowboys Stadium or a soccer stadium in Brazil. Dana had options.

Hard to argue with that argument. I was mostly saying I'm happy the fight is in December for selfish reasons; I don't want to wait 3 more months for the thing to go down. But, I understand the lure of holding it in early 2014.

For my selfish reasons, October at the latest would be ideal.

I understand why that won't happen, though.

He'd better, because Leben is going to high five him. In the face. With his fist.

I am revolving my birthday party around this fight. I wish it was in Newark or Philly because I would definitely go. But this stacked card means I will have something nice to look forward to this year.

The price of an HD PPV broadcast jumps to $59.99 with this show. Wack.
