Re: UFC 229: Khabib v McGregor
Khabib: 'How can you talk about me jumping over the cage, and not him talking about my religion, my family and almost killing people on the bus'
Yet he didn't go after Connor, he went after a member of his camp at ringside.
Khabib then bowed out of the press conference, after saying Putin called to congratulate him and that his dad is going to smash him for what happened tonight.Comment

Edit: Just saw the full video
Conor tried to hop the fence and actually ATTACKED one of Khabib’s coaches who was tryna stop Khabib. That’s why the dudes jumped in the ring to go after Conor.
No wonder Conor didnt wanna press charges lolLast edited by Phillyboi207; 10-07-2018, 07:00 AM.Comment

Re: UFC 229: Khabib v McGregor
Casual fan here so take what I say with a grain of salt.
How is what Khabib did any worse than what Connor did when he threw a truck-cart at the bus? IMO, Connor did much worse as he injured other fighters who were unable to compete on that weekend's card, taking their health and their ability to earn money from them.
You know that Dana threw all of the UFC's legal weight and money to help Connor avoid jail time and keep his green card so he could fight on US soil again.
I wonder if he'll do the same for Khabib.
Re: the fight, Connor got his azzz whupped last night fair and square. He trashed talked and did his thing and he paid the ultimate price.
As Bisping said, there's no reason for a rematch as McGregor was thoroughly defeated.
Not only did Khabib maul him on the ground, he was the better and stronger striker too.
But I have to believe that Dana is happy for what occurred. Now he and the athletic commission can suspend Khabig for 6 months to a year, allowing Connor to regain the interim belt against Fergeson and maybe one other fight, before forcing a rematch - where he'll get destroyed once again.
At that point, his newly created 165lb division will be ready for Connor to move up and avoid having to fight someone he could never beat in a million years.Comment

Dude was doing everything he could to cheat and still got smeshed. Some people you can play that "building the fight" game with by trashing everything they stand for, some people you cannot.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Yup. Clearly Khabib is not a man to mess with. In his post fight interview he spoke about how he was not happy with Connor trashing his father or his religion.
This is not a game or seen as simply entertainment or a job to Khabib. Fighting is about honor to him.
It makes me respect Khabib even more as he was clearly angry over Connors shenanigans and yet didn’t let that affect his gameplan.

Everything you said was true(except Conor beating Tony)
There’s just a huge double standard when it comes to Conor. Look at this topic and how his fans are tryna make him look like he’s innocent in all of thisComment

If you are khabib do you give Connor a rematch for more money or fight Tony and see where it goes from there ?

Re: UFC 229: Khabib v McGregor
hmm, what I see online is a lot of people defending Khabib. I don't think he lost any fans tonight. What he did however could be a criminal offense.
I'm sure UFC will do what they can behind the scenes to save Khabib from too nuch trouble (DQ, lifelong ban, etc) while nailing the other instigators to the cross. lots of important people were shaken up by this event, it won't go unpunished. two wrongs don't make a right.
If you ask me I don't really care, Conor sells fights, he does these things to sell fights, Khabib's stock only went up after tonight. They're both clever blokes.
I will say I'm a little melancholy over the fact that conor's rise is over. If you missed Mendez, Aldo, or even Eddie, you missed it.
it was amazing.Comment
