What an idiot. Cody deserved that for fighting so silly. Your just gonna stand in front of a guy and swing? Dude gets way to emotional smh. Deserved every bit of that loss.

Cody is still young, but can he recover from this? The guy doesn't fight smart.

Man idk tbh. He's even expressed some mental issues after the TJ losses in a few interviews i've seen. He's young but I mean if he wants to keep winning, at some point he has to realize that swinging for the fences doesn't always work...especially when both guys are wearing 4oz gloves. It's also the best way to shorten your career.

          Askren wins

          (#6|+230|$3.3x|3/10)

          Robbie Lawler < Ben Askren
          (#0|-250|$1.4x|7/10)

Lawler can finish this fight with strikes. He has decent TDD and possesses an accurate straight left.
Askren is known for his Olympic level wrestling and is expected to outgrapple Lawler. Chain wrestling will be integral.

          Prediction: Askren by DEC.

          ___

Result: Askren by TSUB at 3:20 of R1.

I got Askren by dec too, but if Robbie does win its gonna be him finishing Askren by ko/tko cuz he couldn't get any wrestling going. But yh I feel he'll have to chain wrestle to get Robbie down too...the td won't come easy.

                Insane comeback!

Askren wins by technical submission. Bulldog choke.

Apparently Lawler wasn't out. I am not sure yet.

Wow. Horrible ending man. That was turning out to be such a great fight. Lawler almost finished him...that could have easily been stopped when Lawler was landing those bombs from top. One thing I can say though, Askren can take a freaking beating man wow.

                    Usman won

                    (c|-160|$1.6x|6/10)

                    Tyron Woodley > Kamaru Usman
                    (#2|+150|$2.5x|4/10)

Woodley has a piston like straight right and has great offensive and defensive grappling. Very well rounded and known to circle often to pull in his opponent and dictate location.
Usman's best chance is his wrestling base and cage grappling. However, Usman has good conditioning, improved striking and will look to mix.

                    Prediction: Woodley by R4 TKO.

                    ___

                    Result: Usman by DEC (50-44)

I thought Askren went out on the ground for an instant. Lawler looked like he went out for a second.

Great fight and great comments to Dana, haha.

I got Woodley winning by KO/TKO too, as long as he doesn't get wreckless and go silly mode like Cody did tonight. With his tools, it's gonna be hard for Usman to take him down and I feel he's the better and more powerful striker. If Usman takes it, I see him wearing Woodley out with his grinding wrestler style. It's gonna be hard to get Woodley down but if he can wear on him with some grappling for a few rounds, he may be able to outlast Woodley. Other than that, only other way I see Usman winning is by a flash ko blessing from the mma gods.

Woodley lost this fight because he isn't fighting. He's keeping his back on the fence against a wrestler and not even punching.

Great win for Usman. First African UFC world champion.

That was a good example of 10-8 grappling rounds.

Woodley seemed like he was lethargic compared to how alert he usually is.
