    Could they turn to UFC for JR's replacement?

    As reported earlier, WWE is considering removing Jim Ross from the RAW announce team. Interestingly enough, they are considering replacing him with Mike Goldberg of The Ultimate Fighting Championship.

    At this point, if Ross is replaced, WWE would likely make him the head announcer for WWE.com programs.

    Is it over for Jim Ross?

    WWE is apparently considering removing Jim Ross from the RAW announce team. There was a lot of talk leading up to the USA Network debut that WWE may return to the network with a new announce team not including JR, but since he did end up announcing this past Monday, it may be a sign that WWE will keep him around for now. Interestingly enough, a lot of people in WWE are more concerned with the "look" of the announcers when they do appear on TV than they are with the actual announcing. JR has also built up a lot of enemies backstage who would like to see him out. Ross is no longer that involved backstage in WWE since he lives in Oklahoma and flies in to do RAW.

      Interestingly enough, a lot of people in WWE are more concerned with the "look" of the announcers when they do appear on TV than they are with the actual announcing.
      In THAT case, who BETTER to take over announcing duties than.....

                  Quite frankly this is long overdue tho I don't exactly like the WWE's reasoning for it. It's not a matter of the announcers looks that has me wanting to see JR go, it's the actual announcing.

                  Let's face it JR was a lot better in the mid 80s to early 90s. I've heard some of his work from that time period and it's night and day compared to his job these days. He doesn't sound nearly as interested and his act has gotten old.


                  I don't know much about this Mike Goldberg guy but if he's good and has some knowledge of pro wrestling then I say give it a shot. Personally i'd rather see a guy like Joey Styles announcing for WWE.

                          Joey Styles is awful. I prefer not to have someone yelling at me the entire show. Ross is the best option at this point. He is much, much better than Cole, Styles, or Mike Tenay. Of course, that is my opinion which means nothing, but I would rather not see him leave. I just don't know who they could go with that would be better. You have to remember that Vince is feeding him a lot of the lines during the show. If they are thinking about replacing him with Coach, they need to think again.

                                  Tony's too much into hyperbole like that tho I admit he was pretty good in the early to mid 90s. I actually did a check on him and seems he's doing a sports radio show at some station in Georgia.

                                          Mike Tenay really didn't help matters by making him get so pumped up. He's better than Coach would ever dream of being, and better than Cole. So no I'm not joking.

                                              I was a big Joey Styles fan but he probably wouldn't fit with the current programming. It would be weird not having JR call Raw.

                                              That is funny what you guys are saying about Schiavone. He used to say that all the time, "this is going to be the greatest night in our sport." Its funny because I find myself saying that to this day to my friends jokingly when we are hanging out that tonight is going to be the greatest night in our sport. Some of this stuff gets in your head because you hear it so much over time and it ends up being part of your vocabulary, hilarious.

                                                      This might be the first step to getting me to watch Raw again....and I'd take Ski-a-vone over crazy hilbilly JR anyday. Jim Ross was another story though.

                                                          Schiavone used to work for them back in the day. Maybe there is a reason they haven't asked him back....
