Re: Kurt Angle Released!
I'm glad you said this. I'm glad SOMEONE said this.
This one touches a little close to home for me for some reasons. And it's about time all this crap ends.
Internet dirts sheets are rumors. That's it. 95% of the stories are made up by some half-arse wannabe reporter who thinks he should be writing for the New York Times. And they suck all of you people into it.
Angle left for personal reasons. He is not sick, he is not dying. Why in the hell does everyone need to know why? Seriously, what these guys have going on in their lives is none of ANYONE'S business besides their employer and their family.
You know that post I put up in the general wrestling forum? Candy and others (and yes, I'm naming you Candy because you seem to have lead the spoiler charge around here): TAKE THE HINT...I'm not posting it because you guys upset me. I'm posting it because you guys believing that crap really gets under my skin.
Oh, and BTW, this thread is one of the reasons Angle is taking time off. Not this thread directly, but I've said enough. Figure it out on your own...
Now, on to the next subject about Angle. When Eddie G passed away, there were rumors going around that there was another star that was heading down the path of death from guys like Flair to Angle. I've been watching wrestling since I was a little kid, and when someone dies in the business like an Owen Hart that was clean to guys like Brian Pillman and Eddie Guerrero that did things that I don't condone, it still tugs at my heart. I really like Kurt Angle and all the crap we have heard about problems with his wife to his health issues, I don't want to see another wrestler with so much talent die.
It's none of my business what happens in Kurt's personal life, but do you forget that all this dirt sheet garbage comes along with the entertainment business. Look at the Enquirer or other junk mags of the same nature, they have made their fortunes off of the personal lives of the entertainment world.
Extreme, I'm getting tired of the sh*t around here with certain people getting on my case because I posted the word DEAD twice. How many times have I seen others repeat themselves around here? Are we placing restrictions on what people say now even though it's not disrespecting others?
I'm all for keeping OS a nice clean forum, but telling people to not write up their opinions is wrong. Is this nazi Germany of message boards?Last edited by CaptainZombie; 08-26-2006, 02:53 PM.Comment

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
A couple of updates on Angle:
-An interview with Angle about the situation.
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/3232350
-Rumors that are likely nothing more than BS but people here seem to enjoy reading anyway:
From PWInsider:
-WWE purposely did this on Friday afternoon since that's a well known time that the media will be slower on, with the thinking that by Monday morning it will be under lots of other headlines.
-Kurt Angle and his lawyer/agent had a meeting with WWE Friday afternoon. WWE told Kurt Angle the requirements for him if he wanted to stay with them, he refused what they wanted from him, and they fired him.
-WWE did not want to do this, but felt they had no choice at all. The thinking is that the only way they could help him is to make it so that he's no longer with them, since he refused what they wanted from him.
-With the way WWE has handled this should tell us all just how much in trouble Kurt Angle is in right now. This isn't something they would do if it wasn't as dire as possible.
-As we all know, Kurt's attitude was that if he's going to be in ECW, then ECW should be built around him instead of him being there to only help ECW build up it's name. He hated the fact that TBS was being pushed so hard, when he was almost just there.
Whatever the truth is, I just hope he gets better. His personal well-being is way more important than entertaining the fans.Last edited by TimmeH; 08-26-2006, 03:39 PM.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
Beaten and battered
By Michael Cole
August 26, 2006
“My body is so beat up and run down, I can’t even think straight,” Kurt Angle tells WWE.com in an exclusive interview Saturday concerning his early release from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Angle and WWE officials mutually agreed to end Angle’s relationship with the company on Friday.
Angle says seven years of non-stop wrestling has taken a major toll on his body, his mind and his family. “I need my body to reheal and rehab, I have done this for too long without a break. I haven’t been able to really enjoy my life. I haven’t seen my family, I’ve had problems with medication - I’m just fried physically and mentally.”
Angle’s business manager David Hawk claims, “Kurt’s in a tremendous amount of pain, he’s used prescription medication to deal with it. Kurt has come to the conclusion that unless he can get in the ring without the use of pain medication then he doesn’t need to be in there. He realizes he was just endangering himself and his opponents.”
The last straw for Angle seems to have occurred on August 13th, 2006, at an ECW live event in White Plains, New York. Angle was wrestling Rob Van Dam in a match where both competitors were fueled by the passionate ECW fans. “The crowd was wild,” Angle says. “Early on in the match, I pulled my groin, but I kept going, feeding off the crowd. Then I pulled my abdominal muscle off the pelvic bone, but I kept going as the crowd grew more wild. Finally, I blew out my hamstring, but we finished the match. The crowd stood and applauded - a standing ovation and that meant so much to me.”
Ironically that would be Angle’s last match.
WWE.com asked Angle if he would ever return to competition in WWE. Angle says “I can’t tell you that right now, I need to heal up mentally and physically. Until then, I can’t even think about returning.”
But Angle says WWE Chairman Vince McMahon told him the door is always open. “Vince says when I’m ready, if I’m ever ready, to come back just sign on the dotted line. I’ll tell you if I do return I’m going back to my roots, training on the mat like my amateur days. Longevity is the key.”
Hawk seems confident Angle will be in the ring again someday.
Angle has a final message to his legion of WWE and ECW fans. “Don’t be concerned, this move was for the best. It was a privilege to be able to compete for all of you. I’d like to say thank you.”
WWE.com will continue to follow up on Kurt Angle over the next several months.

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
Take offense all you want, because your not the one that continues to have people place restrictions on you.
You know something, if it wasn't for people like Giggas, Superstar, Truth, SPTO, Jiggidy, Pratt, a few others, and myself this board would still be non active. I tried so hard to get this board active last summer, which it worked, but people continue to slap me in the face around here.
When your not allowed to express constructive opinion than tell me what is going on around here? It's getting to the point where I now need to watch what I say and can't make comments even though it's not disrespecting anyone.
When certain people post the same comment themselves 2-3 times during a discussion do I see Extreme say anything to them. NO. It's always me he has to say something about it, even though he does the same sh*t sometimes.
Then with Millenium, I thought all the spoiler crap was resolved and in the past. Now all of a sudden I continue to lead the charge around here since he believes that I'm doing it still. Maybe he should look at all the threads lately to see who has been posting spoilers. Does he forget that we discussed with Extreme if we are to post spoilers, that the Spoilers tag must be in the title. If that's in the title and he still can't refrain from clicking on it than I laugh.
The best was with ECW's PPV in December. The guy got pissed since I posted a thread about it, when all of the news sites like Lords, PW.com, and WrestleZone had that as the title of the link before you clicked on it. As soon as you saw the title, you knew that a ECW PPV in Dec was coming. How could you keep that as a surprise, I mean stuff like that is getting annoying. Your telling me he went to the wrestling sites and steered away from that as soon as he saw it.
Even better, one Tuesday night we were discussing ECW and just because 3 times I said that Kelly was hot in many different ways, I get lambasted by Millenium. When Extreme and a few others did the same thing, Millenium didn't say anything to them. Why?
All of a sudden this discussion about Kurt Angle has turned to a bunch of garbage because we can't express our opinion as to what we think might be wrong. We can't be lead to have speculation according to others.
-----
All in all at the end of the day, I have never disrespected anyone around here. I would expect the same in return, but why is it that I can't get the same respect?Last edited by CaptainZombie; 08-27-2006, 10:08 AM.Comment

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure EG was just commenting on you talking about the death rumor, not the fact that you mentioned it twice. Nobody knows if Kurt is close to death or not, so you shouldn't mention Kurt dying if you have no idea what's wrong with him.Blind to this impending fate

Lords, PW.com, and Wrestlezone ARE DIRT SHEET SITES. Anything that appears on them in terms of shows, angles, firings, or anything before they happen shouldn't show up here.
I like how you say I think of myself as the Messiah around here, yet the next words you type are about how people like you 'saved' the wrestling board. Way to have yourself a God complex. EVERY WORD YOU TYPE immediately gets contradicted by, well, you, at some point. You go with the flow, and your opinion, strangely enough, changes depending on what is 'cool' on the boards. Typical internet smart mark.
Candy, people like you are what ruined wrestling...that's why I can' stand you. Please, don't flatter yourself by thinking I am singling you out, you just tend to be the best example most of the time.Last edited by Millennium; 08-27-2006, 10:21 AM.Comment

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
This is my issue. Guess what, ***? I DON'T READ THOSE SITES. I wasn't even aware that ECW was going to have a PPV. So guess what? That would have been a great surprise for me when Heyman comes out to announce it whenever. But you have taken it away from me.

You can't deny it, but I have been really good the last 2 months with posting spoilers. Again, I'm very sorry, like I said to everyone about the spoilers. I never knew that it impacted people so much and wish I was told about it beforehand. I didn't get upset about it, I just followed the rules.
People like me ruined wrestling? Do I run these websites? Granted I reported my findings here at OS for discussion, but I have stopped.
There are people that post in the Entertainment board which have spoiled movies and tv shows all the time do to no spoiler tags, do I continue to go off on those same people? Welcome to the world of the internet, all kinds of information is everywhere at our disposal.
At first, I used to be the same way that the wrestling sites have spoiled wrestling since we know everything that's going on these days from tv shows all the way to PPV's. I gave up a long time ago. The net has been around to the public since '92/'93, it only gets worse in the wrestling business with dirt sheets. You can completely avoid it or try to make changes. I thought that we worked at making those changes here so spoilers weren't posted.
All this back and forth crap sparked because I mentioned about Angle possibly being the superstar that could die next. What is so wrong about saying that based off of the info that we have? I like Angle very much and am concerned if something happens to the guy.Comment

Re: Kurt Angle Released!
I just don't want to watch another superstar pass away due to them breaking down or the painkiller issues.
I wasn't the only one that used "dead", there were a few others also. To pick on just one person is kind of wrong.Comment
