Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Meh I don't see the big deal about anyone's finisher, any main event talent usually seems to kick out of a finisher at least once a match these days. Usually more during the big matchesSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I didn't even put that in the right thread.
But yes there is a limited ammount of them. Certain guys are only capable of certain things and if a heel gets some spectacular move everyone pops for they're eventually going to start cheering him.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
A good finisher is right up there with a good theme song. You are totally screwed if they both suck (looking right at you Wade Barrett).Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Yeah, I thought Wasteland (not that it's fantastic either) was much better than the elbow. His theme songs have all sucked.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
True, plus it's John Cena, not some scrub guy who's kicking out of the finisher. Cena kicked out of the GTS and Rock Bottom (IIRC) too, probably has kicked out of the RKO before, Pedigree, etc. So I don't see the correlation between Cena kicks out = finisher being buried.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Didn't it take 3 tombstones for Undertaker to put away Kane? At least in their first Wrestlemania match. Want to say it took a good 2 or 3 to put away Shawn as well.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Daily update of NoDQ stuff:
- There has been a lot of internal talk about Dolph Ziggler's future lately.
As noted, officials have discussed breaking Big E Langston away from Ziggler and AJ Lee but it sounds like he might stay with AJ. They are discussing this not because of a possible Langston face turn but because of a Ziggler babyface turn.
Vince McMahon has been changing his mind back and forth on Ziggler as a babyface but it's more when and not if. A lot of people in the company feel that Ziggler will take off huge as a babyface when the call is made. The fact that Ziggler is already popular in the New York market is said to be influencing Vince's decision.
- The current layout for WWE's Royal Rumble pay-per-view has a Rumble qualifying match planned for the YouTube pre-show, a Divas Title match that has not been determined yet, Kane and Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk vs. The Rock and the 30-man Rumble match.
A timed out script shows the Divas match for 10 minutes, the Tag Team Title match for 10 minutes, the World Heavyweight Title match for 20 minutes, the WWE Title match for 30 minutes and the Rumble main event set for 70 minutes total. These times include intros, the match itself and post-match happenings.
The script does not have winners or Rumble entrants at this point but does show that no other matches are scheduled such as The Miz vs. Antonio Cesaro.
- WWE officials have offered Brock Lesnar a new contract. They want him locked in for another year before WrestleMania. It's believed the new deal is similar to the deal he signed last year - several million dollars, a few major pay-per-view events and the TV shows building up to those events.
Lesnar has not signed the deal and probably won't sign any time soon because that's how he operates, likely negotiating until the end. Some within WWE are under the impression that he's in the creative plans for after WrestleMania 29.
Regarding a potential Lesnar vs. The Undertaker match, a source noted that Taker is really hurting bad and since Lesnar works a very physical style, officials are very leery of ever doing that match.
- Sami Callihan, Ricky Reyes and The Briscoe Brothers Mark & Jay will be attending the WWE developmental three-day tryout camp in Florida at the end of this month.
- While WWE discussed a possible Evolution reunion for the 20th Anniversary of RAW on Monday, they never contacted Batista to appear. They also never contacted Chris Jericho. A lot of names were contacted to appear but were told later that the decision was made not to bring anyone back.
- Konnan spoke about Rey Mysterio's WWE status on the new episode of MLW Radio:
"Somebody seems to think that Rey was suspended for the wellness policy. Absolutely incorrect. He is dealing with a
family situation right now and he does have permission to be out. They know what's going on and he will be back
soon. He is not injured. He doesn't have any drug issues - and I'm not covering for him because he's my boy… but he's
cool, he'll back soon."
- MVP was once again asked by a fan on Twitter if he is returning to WWE. This time, MVP says WWE might not want him. He tweeted:
"I don't think they want me. LOL"
- Dusty Rhodes is no longer writing the WWE NXT TV episodes. Rhodes was the writer when NXT taped in Tampa but since moving the tapings to Full Sail University, Ryan Ward is the new head writer. Triple H has been working as the editor and people have raved about how smooth the tapings go.
- Ric Flair is currently booked for the January 21st WWE RAW from San Jose, California and the January 22nd SmackDown tapings in Sacramento. The Rock is also booked for those two shows. Flair will leave for All Japan Pro Wrestling right after the SmackDown tapings.
Flair is still working on a per-night deal with WWE but could be signing something more solid soon. Believe it or not, TNA has sent feelers to Flair about coming back to their company and apparently they have been doing this since before their lawsuit against WWE was dropped this week.
Regarding Flair's segment with The Miz on Monday's RAW, it was designed to endorse Miz as a new babyface and to set up Miz using the Figure Four as his new finishing move. When he found out, Flair joked to Miz, "I hope they let you beat people with it because I never did."
Flair will likely be working with Miz again at next week's WWE TV tapings.
- Sin Cara was backstage again at this week's WWE TV tapings but not used.Last edited by philliesfan136; 01-17-2013, 03:57 PM.Comment
