That's not what I said. But when the crowd chants something like that, they are obviously trying to get themselves over, so to speak, and it detracts from what's actually going on. This particular instance didn't bother me too much, to be honest, but there are times when small pockets of fans detract from the show.

The Husky Harris chants bothered me a little. But whatever. I feel like 99% of the time if you're getting an old ring name chanted at you or you're getting "WHAT?" chanted to death you probably deserve it.
This was the 1% though. It's their debut and it's a unique, awesome character. Give them a chance first.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Them chanting it didnt affect me in the least bit. Crowds will do what they are gonna do.
They still call Mark Henry sexual chocolate and people get a kick out of that. But now Wyatt gets it and the crowds are the worst thing to ever happen to the business.
Lets give Wyatt and his reactions more than a week.Last edited by kingkilla56; 07-10-2013, 05:25 PM.Comment

Can't stand smart marks and people that feel its their job to remind folks of people's former characters. It's played out at this point. Yeah you have access to the internet and know how to use Wikipedia. Big ****.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Austin is talking about Wrestlemania again.
"Oh I’m healthy enough. My knees coming around just fine, it’s better than it’s ever been because I’ve been doing my do diligence on my rehab. I’ve got two new ligaments. Everything else is pain free. I’m still in shape been working out harder than I’ve ever worked out. But here’s the deal. When you’re gonna try to commit to do a Wrestlemania 30, you’re looking really at, at least a two to three month commitment, if not four. So you know you’re talking about, taking everything else of the table. I can still do my podcast but take everything else off the table and focus specifically on that task. To do it the way I would do it, to do it the way Stone Cold Steve Austin would do it, at a 120 percent. Because to go out there and to try to perform at 85-90 percent because you didn’t prep enough. That would be bogus, that would be BS that would be letting the crowd down. And that would be representing the Stone Cold Steve Austin that I know and love to a degree that is not acceptable. So once you throw a legitimate, real deal offer down on the table and say let’s talk, then we’ll talk. But until then, conjecture."In what is becoming an annual theme, the idea of Stone Cold Steve Austin coming out of retirement for one last match at WWE’s WrestleMania 30 against dream opponent CM Punk is being floated out there once again. However, WWE doesn’t seem to be interested.
I'm not getting my hopes up on this, but if Austin will do it then they're absolutely ****ing stupid to not make it happen. If you're going to trot the bastardized version of The Rock out there for 3 years to make money, you have to do this too. It's good business.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Just cause you mentioned The Rock they'll give us Rock vs. Austin with HHH/Stephanie representing one and Vince the other instead of Austin/Punk.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
You can't get mad at the crowd reacting to things. No matter what it is. They called him Husky Harris. He was Husky Harris. Now his job is to erase our memories of that with a fantastic run with this gimmick. Like Kane did.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
But Husky Harris was on TV. WWE is too busy assuming everyone has a terrible memory.
And about Henry, his gimmick was once Sexual Chocolate. It isnt anymore and people still call him it everytime he is on the screen. But noone says a peep about it.

Sexual Chocolate is different bc he's always been "Mark Henry", whether it's "Sexual Chocolate" or "WSM" version, he's the same guy. But WWE is trying to get over a guy as a new character, but people want to bury it by chanting his old name...that pisses me off. I know people pay money, it's a free country, blah blah blah. There's no stopping it, just like the what chants, doesn't mean I have to like it either.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
The Husky Harris chants bugged me. Took a little bit away from the experience imo.
Another thing that really bugs me is when people constantly refer to wrestlers by their real name or past ring names. Its just a pet peeve of mine I guess. I guess I just kinda see it as people trying to show how smarky they are. Again, just my opinion.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
So what? Do people go to movies and chant "Bosom Buddies" at a Tom Hanks movie? Do people chant "Rocky" when they go see a movie Dwayne is in, even when he's playing a different character? I don't think it's WWE thinking that people don't have memories, just more of certain fans wanting to put over their own memory and how 'smart' they are.

And we could argue in circles about Henry but the point is they still slam him about Sexual Chocolate; he hasnt been that in what 13 years? but we get reminded of it weekly. Much like Ryback gets Goldberg chants every week.
Who cares if the crowd called him Husky Harris on monday? Its their prerogative. And no, you dont have to like it. But you will have to put up with it or mute the TV screen if it really takes you out of the moment that much. I can see how it can be annoying. But hey its better than dead silence.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
It kind of felt like Austin totally shot on The Rock in that interview and rightfully so.
Also, if he does come back for WMXXX then there is nobody but Punk that is worth his time in the ring.
This was great:

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
And had the change happened 10 years later or they didn't have him grow his hair out, put him in a full body suit, and put a mask on him, exactly that would have happened. What did they expect was going to happen when Wyatt looks almost exactly like Harris except for a hawaiian shirt instead of a Nexus shirt and a beard?Comment
