Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

This was a long time coming. When he was leaving in 2011, they through a huge title run, and a lot of money at him. Word is punk doesn't spend much money, so he has it saved and doesn't need the mania payday or the last 6 months.

But we need to stop treating this like any other job. It's not. The wrestling business is a brutal business. The rules of not walking out at your office job or what not don't apply here. If you can be future endeavored at anytime, you should be able to quit at anytime.

I could see Punker in ROH for a little while, after his 90 day no compete clause is up. Go roll around with. Hero and AJ for old times sake.

I think the dude is done with wrestling in general. Seems like he just wants to hang out.

People walk out of their regular office jobs all the time too. I dont fault Punk for leaving if thats what he wanted to do. Plenty wrestlers have done it. I dont blame him for leaving something his heart just wasn't into anymore.

But if he left specifically because he isn't the biggest thing in the company right now, then lol at CM Punk. If hes fed up with a company that holds the workers back and boosts the part timers then thats fair enough too. But he can't pretend that they didnt treat him well in the WWE.

But if he got to do a few matches at tapings over a few months, in Chicago. He'll do it.

They gave him the mic. He made himself over as **** with the pipebomb. The run with the title was just because he was hot with the crowd. He still didn't go on last at ppvs with the strap. No reason him and cena haven't gone on last at mania.

Exactly, many guys don't even get a chance. Look at Richards and Edwards - one mistake and see ya bye.

A lot of stuff we don't know about this so all I'll say is that I hope he made the right decision.

If this is what he wants to do, then hey...good luck in your future endeavors, man. But let's not be naive and think this won't hurt the WWE much. It's going to hurt some.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

On a personal level, there was a time when I called him my favorite guy. That hasn't been the case as I've watched him completely check out over the last month or two, to the point where I got a little mad at him for clearly not giving a **** (while understanding that it must be hard as hell to put your all into **** angles).

If he's gone for good, and it feels like he is, he's got a nice legacy in WWE. Maybe not all it could have been, but that's hardly his fault.

And like I said before, I'm genuinely scared of how much they're going to bury AJ now. When the most over people in that division get 5 minutes of TV a week at the most, it might be a hell of an issue if they suddenly have motivation to punish you just to send a message.

I know, I know, I'm not supposed to care about women's wrestling. Sue me. I kinda do. Pretty much because of her. So I'd hate to see her buried because Punk took his ball and yadda yadda.

I can't blame him for leaving if he wasn't feeling it anymore. At least he did it now with plenty of time to come up with new plans rather than pulling this a week or 2 before Mania when everything was set. If they're not going to put Bryan in the main event, Bryan vs. HHH makes for a much better story than Punk vs. HHH anyway.

I don't think he's quite that selfish. I think his problem is more with guys like Bryan, Kofi, Ziggler, and himself lately to a lesser extent getting overlooked for more Cena and Orton and part-timers. I think he really thought that when he broke through it would open the doors for guys like that going forward and it hasn't happened. It's now like the pipebomb never happened. I think there's a good chance Batista was the last straw. It's well documented how upset he was about the Rock getting a Mania main event and that's a whole lot more justifiable than what's happened with Batista.

So local ESPN guy in Cleveland is a huge wrestling fan. I think he was backstage at RAW monday, and has some dirt:

Punk was heard arguing with staff saying "I passed all your damn concussion test" and "I'm not going out and telling fans that BS"
— Casey Kulas (@CaseyKulas) January 29, 2014

Sucks for AJ. They're gonna bury the hell outta her. But she's not that big of a draw, so it's not a big deal. Go with Brie or Naomi.

I think she sells a ****load of merch, which might save her.

Leaving the company is probably his best shot at ever main-eventing WrestleMania in the future.

That kind of pettiness is one of the things I hate about wrestling. She's not a big draw really, but I do think she probably is the most over diva since the Trish/Lita days. Burying her would be burying what remnants of the division she's managed to dig up from the grave.
