I would LOVE for The Rock to the guest host on RAW sometime this year. He doesn't have to do anything for us. Their really is nothing left for him to do in the WWE.

There's a big difference between The Rock and Cena - how long they went. John Cena doesn't suck - he's got a lot of Charisma, mic skills, and he's not nearly as bad in the ring as people make him out to be (hell, he's probably better than The Rock). But Cena's character is stale. And that is because he has been involved in the Main Event scene for the last 6 years (7 if you count the year he chased the US Title, when that belt was a big deal) and has been a face that entire time. He slowly reinvented himself from being the white rapper to what he is today, but even what he is today he has been, unchanged, for at least the last 3 1/2 years.

The Rock, on the other hand, was around a much shorter time (less than 4 years separate his 1st WWE title and his last), and his last. And he was constantly reinvented over his run. First, he was the cocky leader of the nation that used them for his own needs. Then he became "The People's Champ." He then became the "Corporate Champ." It was after that he became the version of the Rock we all know that spouted off catch phrase after catch phrase. He finished it up in 2003, becoming "Hollywood" Rock (which was just awesome, imo). So while The Rock in his rather short career was constantly evolving, it's the same thing time and time again with Cena.

I think the Miz is the closest thing now to The Rock. By that I mean he's the guy with the most potential to crossover to the mainstream. He has the mic skills (though nowhere near the Rock), has gotten better and better in the ring, has the charisma, and most importantly knows what it takes to be successful in the company. I think once the Miz turns face he could be the next big crossover guy, but hopefully he takes the more edgy route and doesn't get watered down like Cena was/is. Within 2-3 years I see the Miz taking Cena's spot as the top face in the company.

Yeah Cena is really good in the mic as we've seen in the past and his in ring work wasn't terrible, but when he was fun to watch was on smackdown as the white rapper and then when he kinda kept that persona on raw for awhile. When the WWE decided he would be the face of the company is when his career started to go downhill atleast for me.

Technically he was in the mainstream way before he became a popular wrestler. He was on RW: Back to New York in 2000 and appeared on a crap ton of challenges after.

To be honest, I don't give a rats *** about any of the divas. Maybe she does deserve it, but lets not act as if her being involved with The Undertaker didn't play a part.

yeah, I mean, it very well could have played a part. Imo though, shes the best diva. I dont really mind her segments as they are "real wrestling" type heel stuff and not just her on some dudes arm or having a bikini contest, or messing with the guest host. She actually does some good mic work, does pretty good in the ring, and has a good gimmick/personality.

Good point. And I think the media attention he got when he won the title shows he could be the guy to lead the company in the future.

The Rock's later career he reinvented himself, but he started off as the smiling hero face that Vince thought everyone would love. Instead, when Steve Austin became Stone Cold, that whole dynamic of heel's and face's had disappeared.

Right now, John Cena is Rocky Miavia. Unfortunately, there is no signs that he'll ever change, especially since he is a cash cow as far as his popularity with kids go.

I see current Cena more like 80s Hogan, but you're right, there's no incentive to change him right now.
