By the way Punk has carried the PPV and Raw this week to be honest, so if he does leave it will be huge blow to WWE.

Just an observation: why is Daniel Bryan given no mic time at all despite the fact he wins nearly all of his matches? He is decent on the mic from what I saw in NXT and some of his ROH stuff. Give the guy a chance to connect with the fans beyond his wrestling ability.

What's this "Summer of Punk" ROH angle?

In a nutshell, Punk won the ROH title from Aries in what seemed to be his farewell match with the company. He then turned on the fans and threatened to take the title with him to the WWE. He also threatened to sign his WWE contract on the title belt. Everyone expected his next title defense to be his last but he ended up retaining for roughly two months until he dropped it to James Gibson (Jamie Noble) in a four way.

But he is irreplaceable at the moment.
There are 4 guys excellent in ring and on the mic.
FOUR. There's something like 50 or 60 guys in the company. 4/60
One is doing game shows/dancing/concerts and they entirely screwed up with the other 2.
          So that leaves Punk.

Sure Miz is as good on the mic but he's not as good in ring.
Sure Bryan is as good in ring but he's not as good on the mic.

If anybody wants, I have a link of the video of him signing a WWE contract on the ROH Title. Its my favorite part of the angle.

You don't have to be great at both. You just have to be very good at one aspect and decent at another to get over. Heel Orton wasn't great at both. Heel Edge wasn't great at both. Umaga wasn't great at both. I could go on but it'd be pointless.

Right now Punk is filling a role. He's doing it very well, but it is just a role and someone else can step in. Like I said there aren't many guys as good as him, but to me that doesn't make him irreplaceable in a booking sense.

Cena's got plenty of guys who he's yet to feud with that he likely will for the rest of the year - ADR, Ziggler, Swagger, McIntyre. There's 4 PPV matches right there if the WWE needs them. Could always revisit the Truth Cena feud. I'm not saying that there's someone that will do exactly what Punk does as well as Punk does it. But there are guys that can step in and fill that role and not be a huge dropoff like some think it will be.

Well no you don't but I'm saying he IS irreplaceable in terms of quality. Of course someone will get pushed up into his place but they won't be as good.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

Thanks for the synopsis and video. I can see them borrowing the general premise, but I can't see the angle having the same 'bite' with Punk simply walking away. Given the nature of the indy scene, leaving for WWE with the title and rubbing everyone's faces in it... HEAT. Now it would simply be Punk leaving with the belt... still has potential and the promise of a great blow-off -- well, for everyone other than IWC -- with Cena (we assume) recapturing the belt for the pride & glory of the WWE at one of the bigger PPVs of the year.

There are certainly some ingredients for it to work, but not to sound cynical, it feels like something that won't come off as well as it sounds in theory.

They have a bit more to work with here I think. They can work in Nexus and do some good stuff there.

Chavo is a fantastic worker. Great heel too. His feud with Mysterio was awesome. It's a shame they never got him over. I hope he made a ton of money and can now finish his career really showing what he can still do and making a few young guys. Good luck, Chavo.

                                And so it begins.

While some people backstage knew it was coming, CM Punk's shoot promo on Monday Night Raw certainly had everyone buzzing. When Punk started talking about being "a Paul Heyman guy," and referenced controversial, past WWE names like Brock Lesnar, many wrestlers watching on the monitor were said to be "simply and solidly stunned" according to one WWE Superstar we spoke with, and several others were trying to find out Talent Exec John Laurinaitis' reaction as well.

While no one believes Punk went into business for himself, the majority of the Raw locker room was said to be "in shock" (according to one source in production) over how strong the shoot promo was, and the delivery.

We will have tons more on this breaking story as it continues to develop.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were hiding it from the "boys".
