So this is likely going to end up VH1 and feature a bunch of has beens grasping at straws of their failed career. This only works if they have to go against the Acolytes on a weekly basis, with either Bob Holly or CM Punk thrown in for good measure.

I like this idea if they get some pretty good and athletic celebrities. It's a different concept and the world of wrestling is boring as hell these days.

The key is to not make it too over the top and to show some of the inner workings of pro wrestling. Character development, working the crowd, selling, etc. The actual wrestling wouldn't be too good, but it would nice to see what kind of characters these celebs could come up with.

Hogan & Bischoff's Wrestling Project Gets The Green Light

For weeks we've been hearing that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are on the verge of launching a new celebriy pro wrestling TV project. We can now confirm that the series has been picked up by cable TV channel CMT and has a name - "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Wrestling."

The first season will be 8 episodes and then a live 2-hour finale. Filming will begin for the series around June or July in the Los Angeles area. The casting search has begun for "adventurous celebrities" that will train for pro wrestling and can settle their scores in the ring.

No word yet on when the series will debut, but based on the filming schedule, it seems like a fall debut makes sense. Hulk Hogan and Bischoff-Hervey Productions are listed as producers for the series.

Spoken like someone fortunate enough to have not seen TNA any time in the last six months.

WWE's been the personification of boring, but at least it hasn't been offensively unpalatable. TNA's done so much bad with so much good talent it's bordering on criminal. They've made Kurt Angle intolerable, they've completely destroyed Joe, and they've relegated so many good wrestlers to three-minute bit parts in lieu of endless idiotic skits, incredibly dumb stories, and WWE castoffs.

Look at the 3D-MCMGs feud. It started out as a way to boost the MCMGs' credibility, presumably. How did it end? With the MCMGs getting knocked out cold and Jay Lethal pinning Johnny Devine. And sadly enough, that's really one of their most SUCCESSFUL angles of the last year.

November: Kaz is a star in the making after winning this tournament!
One month later: The guy Kaz beat in the final (who wasn't even in the bracket at first) gets multiple title shots while Kaz fights Dustin Rhodes for possession of a rat.

Feast or (YOUR) Fired, ugh. I can't even get started on that one.

Anyways, my point is that it's a complete, systemic infection that's pretty much completely irreparable outside of a complete reboot.

I can;t argue about the booking, but the WRESTLERS themselves are doing a hell of a job with the angles that they are given. Angle was completely intolerable for a long time with his "I'm strung out on crack and steroids and I'm gonna eat your babies" routine but he's definitely more down to earth now. I'm liking the angle (no pun intended) with AJ and Karen.

Jay Lethal is one of the most talented wrestlers I've seen in a long time. I remember watching him when he was 17 in Jersey All Pro and thinking he was too small for WWF. I'm glad TNA came around and scooped him up. Is anyone more over than Lethal? He has a stupid persona that he just makes work. He doesn't need the gimmick but he outsells everyone in merch so they make him keep it.

Joe has taken a backseat in the past 6 months but I think you'll see him back i primetime for a LONG time coming. I absolutely love that Nash has kind of taken him under his wing. Nash is a great manager personality.

Christian is Christian. He never really changes, face or heel. He doesn't really have ups and down, he's constantly a top performer no matter what they throw at him.

Bobby Roode has a ton of promise. He's working with one of the most boring wrestlers ever to step foot in a ring (booker) and he's making the matches somewhat watchable.

3d is funny again. They can't wrestle and they are absolutely pathetic babyfaces, so I like what they are doing with them. Even Scott Steiner is in a good place now, namely not in the spotlight.

The problem with TNA (IMHO) is Sting, Booker T, Black Reign, Rhino and those types of guys. They are just clogging up the works. Sting should be done. He's holding down legitimate youngsters. Booker T should not be in TNA. It makes me sick. Definitely the worst signing ever. Rhino is a complete waste of time, as much as it saddens me to say.

TNA needs to stop going after WWF throwaways. Christian was a great signing because he was in his prime. Angle I can understand somewhat. Sting I could understand as long as he's nowhere near the title picture. But bringing guys in that WWF threw in the trash and then immediately pushing them into the title picture is a slap in the face to a lot of TNA fans.

I want the days back when X-Division guys had a shot at the title. There's no reason AJ Styles shouldn't be a legitimate contender for the belt. Jay Lethal should get his chances in the next 2 years but he wont because there's too many WWF throwaways in the mix.

I could go on and on about how GREAT the personalities in TNA are how they are just underutilized.
