On the World status of the ROH Title...
It got the status because Joe defended the belt in England against The Zebra Kid. Indies do this a lot now: the champ defends in another indy in a different country against somebody. The rules from back in the day have changed and I don't think defending the title against just anyone abroad should give you that status. Ric Flair and Harley Race weren't fighting bums, they were up against the top guys in Japan. So I don't consider the ROH title a world title until Danielson defended against KENTA. Even though it was in the states, the game's changed since the early-'90s and top international talent coming here is good enough. Top guys, not pasty jamooks no one's ever heard of.
So anyway, Punk is a one time WORLD champion as far as I'm concerned. All this sounds ridiculously silly for a near 30 year old man to be thinking, but whatever.
