Flair and Hart's "company jumping" weren't even acknowledged, which was pretty surprising to me as they played a major role in the relations between both promotions.

There are a TON of holes in this documentary and for that reason, I recommend reading "The Death of WCW" as a companion. It's much more informative and while it doesn't have the audio-visual aspect going for it, its sheer detail and specificity sets it apart from what WWE has done on this set.
Never heard of the book. i will pick it up though. I was always a fan of the old NWA/WCW wrestling. I really enjoyed it until Bischoff was run off. As you mentioned, alot of things were overlooked. I am getting this DVD this weekend. I have the "Monday Night Wars". They did go alittle bit into the demise of WCW. Where they talked about Russo and how the NWO grew way to big. I would like to know more of what happend behind the scenes.

Oh, one more thing. I did think it made for good TV when the wrestlers would let out the dirt backstage on the air.
    atleast..Its not Delaware

You know why they didn't mention the whole Flair company jumping angle? I think it's got to do with the fact that they would have been shown to be total hypocrites with the way they reacted to the whole Hall and Nash "invasion."

Thanks for the info. I've got the "Death of WCW" book and it's so good I literally read it in three nights. I'll probably just stick with that unless I get some cash to blow since as far as the matches go I'm mainly interested in the Cruiserweight bouts and I'm hoping some day a DVD set will be entirely devoted to them.

btw - Is the Guererro vs. Malenko match the same one that's on the Starrcade DVD?

I haven't watched the matches yet, but I thought the documentary was pretty interesting. I know better than to expect the whole truth from McMahon, but while a few people came off better than they should have, I think everyone that they really bashed deserved it.

I don't buy a lot of wrestling DVDs though, so if nothing else, it was a reminder of a lot of good and bad things I had forgotten. It's amazing to me to look back and see that they packed football stadiums for Nitros, especially when during that era even WrestleMania wasn't in venues that large. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, but I can't imagine that happening today. It also made me realize how much I miss the crowds of the 90s.

Cant't believe Goldberg vs Hogan from Nitro when Goldberg won the title isn't one of the matches. When I watch this match on YouTube, I still get chills. This was the Greatest Match of my lifetime... I'm 24 by the way

IMO, the reason why this match isn't on this DVD set is because it was included as an extra on the "Monday Night Wars" DVD way back when. WWE got blasted by fans for repeating matches on several of their DVD sets so I actually don't mind their mindset of including lesser known gems on Rise and Fall.

Man,does the Big Show come off as bitter. All he seems to talk about is, "oh they got paid more than I did"

The fact that they changed the Midnight Express's theme music.

And they totally cut Jesse Ventura out of the commentary of the Sting/Vader match.

Other than that,I enjoyed it very much.
Big Show sucks. Enough said about him.

ME theme music was awesome and a shame that they cut it out.

I hate it when they cut out the commentators because you'll obviously see that commentator at some point during the match. Makes so sense. And im assuming that the Sting/Vader match was the Leather Strap match from SuperBrawl III??? If so, that was a great match and actually shows Harley Race cutting the back of Vader with a blade after he was whipped with the strap by Sting.

                      I'm definitely buying this.

In general, the matches look great but I can see a few duds (DDP/Malone vs Hogan/Rodman, Goldberg vs DDP, Steiners vs Hall/Nash and Flair vs Big Show) that shouldnt even be on the DVD set.

Which jump by Flair are you talking about? Flair going to WWF in 1991 as the Real World's Champion or Flair's jump back to WCW in February 1993?

Flair was released by Bill Watts back in 1991 after a contract dispute and Watts thinking that Flair was past his prime and he went to WWF. In February, Flair wasnt happy in WWF and wanted to go back to WCW. He asked Vince and he amazingly agreed but Flair couldnt wrestle until his original two year deal expired.

I still dont understand what either would have to do with the Hall/Nash invasion?

I just picked this up yesterday and while it did have a few holes, the documentary was pretty entertaining and not bad at all for what it was. As far as the matches go, a few of them really stand out but a few were also terrible. I was really hoping to see one of the Chris Benoit vs. Booker T. matches (especially from the best of 7 series they had) but I totally understand why they wouldn't include them. Although in the Ric Flair vs. The Giant match, Nancy Benoit (along with Miss Elizabeth as well) is Flair's valet and is very visible throughout the entire match.

Okay,I was talking about the Real World's Champion thing. Couple of things you're wrong on dan,

1)Flair wasn't released by Bill Watts. As a matter of fact,Bill Watts wasn't even running WCW at the time Flair left,Jim Herd was. As a matter of fact,Bill Watts was the one who lobbied the Turner people to bring Flair back. That was about the only good thing Watts did when he was running things.

2)Flair and Herd didn't get along at all, with Herd thinking Flair was past his prime. He tried to get him to lose the belt at every show, even though Flair was still the biggest draw in the company. Herd tried to cut Flair's salary and Flair said the hell with that.

3)McMahon and Flair had an agreement that if Flair was ever unhappy with his position in the company all he had to do was ask and McMahon would give him his release. You are right about the no compete clause.

4)the reason I mentioned the Hall and Nash thing was because the WWE basically did the same thing with Ric Flair. In fact it's always funny when WWE got mad about the way WCW was handling business, because Vince did the same thing to basically kill the territories back when he was taking the WWE "national" back in the day.

I know my wrestling history dan, especially when it comes to the NWA/WCW.
