WWE presents TLC (but first a little history lesson)

Before the topic was even made here I was wondering what Sheamus' chances actually were. So I looked at how many times a title changed at a december PPV.

Since Armageddon in 1999 there's been at least one title change every december and 6/9 years a brand's main title has changed hands at a december PPV with both times making up the 6 being 3 years in a row,01-03 and the current streak from 06-08. 3 of those where the actual winners had "no chance" much like Sheamus.

The ladies are bit luckier as the women's title has never changed hands at a december PPV during that time. Every other type of championship has changed hands at a december PPV,even the long lost European title.

1999: Val Veins wins Euro title in triple threat vs. D-lo & champ British Bulldog and Jericho defeats Chyna for IC title.

2000: Edge & Christian win the tag titles in a fatal 4 way vs. Dudleys,RTC,Road Dogg & K-Kwick.

2001: It went by Vengeance instead of Armageddon. Undertaker gets a win over RVD for the hardcore title,Chris Jericho beats The Rock for the WCW title and Stone Cold for the WWF title to become the undisputed champion even though he had no chance.

2002: Booker T & Goldust win the tag titles in a fatal 4 way vs. Storm & Regal,Dudleys and Jericho & Christian,Kurt Angle wins the WWE title from Big Show with an assist from Brock Lesnar,HHH defeats HBK for the World title in a 3 stages of hell match.

2003: Randy Orton wins the IC title from RVD,Flair & Batista win the Tag titles in a tag team turmoil match and HHH wins the World title in a 3 way with Goldberg & Kane.

2004: Funaki wins the crusierweight title from Spike Dudley. Hey it's still a title change.

2005: We don't talk about him anymore won the vacant US title in a match with Booker T and Kid Kash won the crusierweight title from Juvi.

2006: While there were no changes at Armageddon,Bobby Lashley won the ECW title in the Elimation Chamber at December to Dismember kicking off the current streak of main titles changing.

2007: Edge won the World title in a triple threat with Batista and Undertaker. He had no chance either.

2008: Jeff Hardy who also had no chance won the WWE title in a triple threat with Edge and HHH.

There's likely to be another match or 2 added as there's currently only 6 but as Cena said he'd use his rematch right there...

    IC Title match
    John Morrison vs. Drew McIntyre
This is a pretty hard to call match but I will say the winner of this will probably give away the winner of Batista/Taker. If Morrison loses expect Batista to win.

    Kofi vs. Orton
The short match they had on Raw this week was actually decent. Hopefully this one will be good and I'm guessing Orton's goons will interfere and he'll win.

    Chair Match
    World title
    Undertaker vs. Batista
Equally tough to call here but I think 'Taker gets the non-sensical win yet again.

    Table Match
    WWE Title
    Cena vs. Sheamus
    I think Sheamus wins.

    Ladder Match
    ECW Title
    Christian vs. Shelton
Another one with unpredictableness. Good shot at match of the night. Christian is more needed on SD so I'll go with a Shelton win.

    TLC Match
    Tag Team Titles
    Jerishow vs. DX
You mean DX can be on both shows to hock their cheesy wares including the glow sticks that are probably the most profitable item in WWE history? Like hell they're passing that up! The other contender for match of the night.

    Table Match
    WWE Title
    Sheamus vs. Cena
    Cena gets his title back.

Has the makings of an exciting show at least. Most of this has been bulit up well and of course the various gimmick and title matches add to it.

My predictions for the four specialty matches:

    Cena over Sheamus

    Shelton over Christian

    Taker over Batista

    DX over Jerishow

So do you think Sheamus wins or Cena wins?

      You have it listed twice.

I think what he's trying to say is that Cena loses but then uses his rematch clause and wins.

I thought the whole "use my rematch" thing was meant because he planned on defending the title against Sheamus on Raw last week before Carlito came out and interrupted. I didn't think he meant they'd wrestle twice in one night.

I thought that as well until Sheamus mentioned in on RAW this past Monday.

Yes exactly, that's why I said Cena gets his title back in the second one. For further speculation only one new match was added on SD,that's 7,there's normally 8.

There are normally eight, but with 4 gimmick matches, I don't think they could fit eight unless some matches were just way too short (I'm looking at the IC Title match).

'Taker/Batista probably won't be long,'Taker is pretty banged up and Batista seems to be a high injury risk,I doubt there's much intrest in a chair match anyway,12-15 is my guess. The match that was added on SD isn't going to be long either 5-8 there.

JeriShow/DX is probably gonna be 30 and I'd hope Christian/Benjamin is 20 at least but that's still enough time.

I somehow doubt the 2nd match would last more than 5 minutes anyway if it were to happen. Few minutes of brawling,Cena dodges a spear,AA through a table.

A Cena-Sheamus "re-match" would not take long at all as both competitors would already be worn down from having just wrestled a grueling table match (So it wouldn't be a "true" match with the buildup before the finish).

I imagine as Sheamus is celebrating and going up the ramp, Cena rises from the table wreckage, grabs a mic, and cuts a quick promo calling Sheamus back to the ring. From there, it'd be a few punches exchanged, Cena dodges the bicycle kick, a quick FU and a pin.

EDIT: LOL you just beat me to it

Forgive my ignorance, but... ...what exactly is a chair match?

(please let it not be the obvious answer that I'm currently assuming it is)

Hopefully there's a Rock/Mankind Royal Rumble fifteen-chair-shot type sequence then.
