I was suprised Shemaus won too, only because I didn't think they would give him a title this quick. The two best matches IMO were Christian vs. Benjamin and DX vs. Jerishow. Wasn't crazy about some of the other matches.

Do you really think that HHH is going to put over every geek that tries to be his buddy? Maybe, just maybe, him or Vince or Kevin Dunn or Stephanie saw something in him and McIntyre then decided the best way to get him ready was to work out with HHH. With the Kozlov disaster, is that really out of the realm of possibilty?

People just fall back on the same old HUNTOR IZ EVIL!!!! garbage (which is more stale than he'll ever be) and assume Sheamus is great at kissing ***.
H already said as much that he sees himself in Sheamus.

Ironically, I see the same thing. Someone getting an undeserved push that certainly cannot be based on his talent or charisma.

Yeah, there's no denying that one of the few reasons Casper got such a superpush is because of HHH. He was just in a feud with the biggest face in the company and still isn't that over as a heel.

I don't see the problem with the guy in charge pushing a guy he likes. The comparison to HHH in '99 is fine, yet flawed, because of what he turned into in 2000.

And Sheamus was over on Raw tonight.

HHH also rode the coattails of HBK and cashed in on DX to gain his fame.

Sheamus needs lightning in a bottle, but I'm certain that HHH is going to give him every opportunity to do that. Really needs to improve on the mic to do that, though.

I'm confused by your first sentence. He's bad for taking advantage of a great opportunity? So many guys have squandered the type of opportunity he got. So many legends did what he did. Guys today would've quit before he got it.

If he "cashed in" on DX, why wasn't he that over until the second Foley feud about a year after the split?

I'm just saying we don't know HOW Sheamus became HHH's "friend". Some rookie isn't going to kiss HHH's *** and get a push out of it. I'm sure everyone does. There's got to be an actual reason other than "cool, we both like Motorhead and drink the same protein shakes". If HHH sees himself in Sheamus, that's not a bad thing. HHH is the most driven man in the business today. He took crap for a year -- he knows what it takes to deal with the BS. With potential top guys flaking out through the years, driven professionals are what they need to put on top.

Hell, this might all be a work and he just said it to piss smarks and HHHaters off.

I did peg Sheamus for success before the infamous interview, but I don't have an opinion on him being worthy of a fake fighting championship. He's OK, I guess. The promo tonight was fine.

I'm just saying that HHH didn't get over by incredible charisma or talent. He got over by working with great ring technicians and great promo men. Also marrying the bosses daughter kept him on top.

If HHH sees himself in Sheamus, that's fine, as long as HHH realizes that he was incredibly lucky to get where he was. Sheamus is going to need a lot of luck to have near the same success that HHH has had.

I don't have an opinion on him being champion. To me, the champion should always be your next rising star, now his job is to make money...I don't see Sheamus selling shows out nor do I see potential. He has a unique look, though, so that does ensure he could have some success.

I thought it was because Sheamus had been asking a lot of questions to learn from people and HHH saw that and decided to help him out because he appreciated that Sheamus wanted to learn. It was also my understanding Sheamus works extra hard on all the stuff we don't see.

Being the only constant main event presence in their second biggest money year kept him on top. And to get there, who was he going to work with if not the best talent around? That's how stars have been made since...well, it's always been like that. Him being as dominant as he is is the benefit of who he's married to. But he'd still be a top guy today without that connection.

Guys who just get lucky, like Ultimate Warrior or Kevin Nash, fizzle out. So many talented wrestlers were elevated because they were in the right place at the right time. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage, Undertaker...all of them were lucky, but they all had the talent to make it last. HHH is no different than them in that regard.

We'll see with Sheamus. He's not going to a big draw at first. Just how it is with business down and wrestling being cold right now. The most he can be right now is a spark.

It did set up a pretty great joke later in the show when he came out later and said...

"I'd like to apologize for that first segment,no one told me you could come out here yell "SUCK IT!" and be considered a genius"

I guess I should mention history repeated itself at this show. Another no chance to win contender won also making it 4 years in a row a major title has changed hands and the women's title still hasn't been won.

The only reason sheamus or that other guy is getting pushed is because they are boys with hhh and shawn micheals. No way in hell that sheamus is remotely anything special when he was on ecw he was getting no reaction from the crowd and switch to raw and guess what no reaction from the crowd, if the wwe wants to push someone they will but you have to be boys with hhh or shawn micheals to get that treatment.

I think this was a no-win situation for the WWE. If Cena wins then everyone here's screaming "Cena sucks, zomg why is he still champion?"...

I like when they mix things up a bit and try to keep things different...usually guys like Sheamus don't win these matches, change can be cool.

I think people would think its cool if someone who acutally deserved it got the belt, just because your boys with hhh doesn't mean you deserve the belt.Change can be cool but giving the belt to someone because he is a freind of someone is just politics which is boring.
