Takeover continues to do what it does best, put on an excellent show from start to finish. Just some thoughts:

- I'm going to get this out of the way.... Takeover did in 3 hours what Wrestlemania will try to do in 7 LONG HOURS!

- Looks like Black & Ricochet are staying on RAW & SD Live, I imagine they will win the SD Live Tag Titles and be on the SD Brand which fits both of them.

- Dream winning caught me off guard as I thought he was going to be one of the call ups this week on RAW & SD Live. Great match between him & Riddle.

- Shayna also caught me off guard by retaining, especially in a Fatal 4 Way where she didn't need to take the pin. This also tells me that they cornered themselves with Shayna the same way they did with Asuka, no legit contenders to beat her for the title so they just kept the title on her.

- Walter and Dunn was great, I imagine Dunn heads to RAW or SD Live this week.

- So happy for Gargano and him finally getting the NXT Championship. I do wonder if the Adam Cole feud will continue or will he get a new challenger? When Ciampa walked out, I was like oh no not again. They played us and he's not really hurt and he's going to ruin this moment lol. The DIY curtain call was fun to see, glad they did it on air and not a WWE.com exclusive.

Aside from the uneventful Kairi reign, Shayna's had such a dominant run that it'd almost be a waste to have her lose it without being beaten.

They just have to build someone up to topple her. Easier said than done though, because they do a great job in NXT of building dominant champions but they have such a hard time simultaneously building up the eventual successor.

Triple H has announced the the 25th Takeover Event taking place June 1st at the Webster Arena in Bridgeport, CT. What's interesting is the 29th Takeover would take place Wrestlemania Weekend next year unless they throw in one more Takeover to ensure the 30th Takeover would happen over Wrestlemania weekend.

From Triple H's Facebook:

He wrote, "Florida, Toronto, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Texas, BROOKLYN, Phoenix, Philly, New Orleans... ...to our TWENTY-FIFTH take over. @WWENXT #NXTTakeOver: XXV is LIVE from the @Webster_Arena Sat, June 1, 2019."

"Takeover: Bridgeport" or "Takeover: XXV" will take place on Saturday, June 1 from the Webster Arena. Tickets go on sale at 10am ET this Friday via NXTTickets.com.

Tomorrow is 5th anniversary of 1st ever NXT Takeover event.

First PPV main event was Neville vs Kidd for NXT Title. Card also featured good matches like Charlotte(with Ric) vs Natalya(with Bret) and Breeze vs Zayn. But also bad ones like Ascension vs a masked Ricardo Rodriguez and Kaliso along with Adam Rose vs Camacho.

Of all the takeovers, Takeover Rival was my fave one.

Itami vs Breeze to kick off show
Balor vs Neville in #1 contenders match
4 horsewomen fatal 4 way for NXT womens title
Owens vs Zayn for NXT Title.

As for this upcoming event on Saturday:

4 team ladder match for NXT Tag Titles (Lorcan/Burch vs Street Profits vs Undisputed Era vs Forgotten Sons)

Riddle vs Strong
Baszler vs Shirai for Womens title
Dream vs Breeze for NA Title
Gargano vs Cole for NXT Title

Really looking forward to this event. So glad there's a 2 day break in NBA Finals AND NXT has PPV on Saturday not Sunday.

And one of reasons I can't watch nxt. Seeing what happens to them on main roster is just too depressing. Can't miss what you never knew existed.

The first 30 seconds or so I was inclined to agree with you but when he started including other wrestlers in it I really started to enjoy it. Reminded me of some of the stuff the Rock used to do. I think the biggest issue is how tone deaf Dream is. If he could have just kind of been able to sing it would have across a lot better.

That's part of it, but that's partially the point too. If fans are excited for a show, they'll start overrating things and enjoy other parts of it too. If fans go in with low expectations, then even the good things might not get much recognition or praise.

Oh man. I can only imagine how over they would be in NXT.

That said, he can only add so many guys before it defeats the purpose of NXT being developmental.
