Joe's whole situation is weird.

He moved into a commentary role, so you felt like he's not cleared to compete anymore.

Then he moved off commentary, they said he's still under contract, but then he's released.

So now you think he asked for a release so he could wrestle elsewhere.

He ends up signing with WWE again, but now as an on screen authority role, so it feels like he really can't compete again and just chose a non wrestling role.

But then he returns to the ring, and then wins the NXT title.

And now he gave up the title due to an "injury?"

William Regal made it official today. The Fatal 4 Way Match between Pete Dunne, KOR, LA Knight & Ciampa will now be for the vacant NXT Championship tomorrow night.

For a "new" NXT, having 4 well established superstars compete for the title seems to go against the dirt sheet narrative. Seems to me this is setting up for Dunne to win leading to Joe vs Dunne at the next Takeover after teasing it multiple times already.

I'd be surprised if Ciampa wins, and LA Knight I feel like he's bound to wind up on the main roster. Sadly you don't know what they'll do with him, but this current gimmick on the main roster I think main roster people would love.

Dunne or KOR winning probably happens. Guess we'll see what they have planned for the new NXT, or if Joe is actually out long term or if it's just some story.

For a "new" NXT, having 4 well established superstars compete for the title seems to go against the dirt sheet narrative. Seems to me this is setting up for Dunne to win leading to Joe vs Dunne at the next Takeover after teasing it multiple times already.

It can still be true, it wouldn't be a good idea to just thrust a bunch of unknown new guys into the title scene overnight.

Not liking the new NXT theme song. I liked the kind of "underground/indy" type of songs we got the last several years, especially ones which have good instrumentals. Since it's a song you're hearing all night long, it's better when it's one with just music.

The new NXT arena looks interesting. Feels like a studio show in a way. No black barricade, instead it's the hockey glass styled barricade from the ground up.

A different hard camera angle to film matches. Probably the angle, but it makes the ring look like a different size. Speaking of the ring, I've never liked white ropes. Feels too bland. Hated when they did it for years with Raw/SD too. Black canvas and white rope works, or white canvas and black rope. But not white canvas and white rope.


And we get the first name change. RIP Rex Steiner. That name literally lasted a week or two. Now he's Bron Breakker? Rex Steiner actually sounded cool. Even Bron Steiner would've been fine. Looks like they're establishing him as one of the new faces of the new NXT.

The name they billed him as online up until tonight was Rex Steiner, so they seemed fine with it up until this show.

Never knew about anything Steiner said though. Guess it would make sense if that was the reason why. Then again, he's Rick Steiners son and not Scott. That last name just feels weird though, especially a random double k last name.

I hope LA does go to the main roster. He's one of the few guys I can look at on NXT and actually feel like WWE booking would have him doing just as well if not better than he's been on NXT. Guess Corbin won't be broke anytime soon, so they can't have LA pay him off as his "hired goon", so maybe he just ends up being Corbins rich friend or something.

Brooks Jensen is the son of Bull Buchanan. Sad thing, I only just found out Bull Buchanan was one of the guys in the truth commission.

I knew he teamed with Cena for a bit, but never knew he existed in WWE before the bossman stuff.

Austin Theory returns, brings a Priest...Damian Priest, who is a Priest but not a Priest.

Carmelo and Trick could be a nice duo.

And Tony D'Angelo? Not a name that will go over well with hockey fans, we'll see if the internet cares enough to change that name.

He was also at Dexter's bachelor party.

As for the hockey player, he's definitely not someone you want to have on your team. NY released him for those very reasons. Carolina signed him this offseason despite all the backlash.

He's not as bad as a John Rocker, but definitely not someone you want to play with.

The Index Wedding was great.

A WWE wedding where nothing went wrong...minus the groom with an axe, choking out the priest, everyone objecting, Jiro in wrestling gear packing the rings, Beth saving the day as an internet ordained minister...but that's nothing compared to past problems.

It was funny when Johnny asks Theory for the ring, and he's like "we're already in the ring!", then Jiro just stands up with no pants on, with the rings in his shirt.

Then, Beth saves the day, wants to cut to the chase, but not before "Did someone say Andre Chase" and the entire arena is like "NO!".

And the end, felt like a TV show. Beth was going to accept Dexter's silence as an agreement and Dexter stops her, and the crowd gets worried.

Dexter: I....
*Crowd gasps*
Dexter: do!
*everyone goes crazy*

For once, WWE had long term build and it was worth the wait.
