He'll have a much less crowded path to the main roster instead of the 50 2nd gen females in 20 years from now while the Sheild dominates the roster.

      Austin T. Gargano, book it

Bron Breakker sounds more like Scott than he does Rick. If you close your eyes during this promo, you would think Ciampa was teaming with Scott Steiner.

So far so good for the first two weeks of the new NXT.

They won't because they love having a million lights burning our retinas, but I'd turn down the brightness of the entrance screens - it's pretty distracting when they cut to camera angles with it in the background. Overall though, the brighter colorful venue is better than the dark basement look.

They are throwing a lot of new people out there, and it's good and bad. Bad because it's a lot of new people to get up to speed with all at once, but good because they're at least giving them all little promos or vignettes to establish some character.

Big plus: NXT wrestlers getting character other than the "serious angry wrestling man who likes wrestling and is serious about winning the wrestling matches" that they were going overboard with. Some are going to fail, some will succeed, but at least people are getting to show some personality here.

              It's got a little bit of a 90s syndicated shows/mid 2000's Smackdown/2013-2015 NXT feel to it.

I'd be fine with NXT going back to 1 hour. That's how FCW was, that's how the old NXT was. If not for AEW, they wouldn't have gone to 2 hours.

I like when wrestling shows have less lights. Nowadays everyone just has every single light on for basically every match, promo and entrance. Its cooler when you have less on so the focus can be on whoever is in the ring.

I good about good and bad thing about so much new talent. It's nice seeing so many new people, but it's also hard keeping up with so many new names and faces.

And I read a rumor saying they wanted NXT to be edgier, and looks like it is which is great. Hopefully a sign of things to come. When people say edgier, they don't mean the show needs to be some Attitude Era style thing, or like what we're seeing on Heels.

The Chase stuff was funny for that. "What's your name? Steve? Well Steve....who the __ did you ever beat!?"

And then Barrett "Thankfully he's learned some oral skills to prepare for the honeymoon...What? It would be a boring flight if they didn't talk to each other", and then he realized what he said.....

I hadn't watched the "new" NXT reboot (I work on Tuesday nights) until today, but holy **** does Bron Breaker sound exactly like his uncle.

Maybe him having such a similar name, while also having a stronger pedigree in pro wrestling, is why they felt like Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman were expendable? [emoji38]

The Jiro "Style Strong" stuff sounds like it could be funny.

I was listening to Graves/Vics podcast (they really should have Vic on Raw instead of Jimmy and let Jimmy go to NXT), and Graves basically talking about the mindset backstage.

He mentioned "someone"(I wouldn't be surprised if it was McMahon or someone higher up like that) was talking to him backstage as they were watching a match, and they asked him what's the match missing. The answer was basically something like "personality".

Which does make sense with what NXT 2.0 is doing.

Comparing it to ice cream flavours. There's many different types of flavours, but if you're constantly having the same flavour, it won't be so special after a while.

A style like we see today wasn't as common 15-20 years ago which is why it stood out so much with guys like Angle, Eddie, Bret, HBK. But then the "non professional wrestlers" like Hogan, Rock, HHH, Cena and others all stood out too without doing that style because they had personalities.

Seems like that's at least what they're trying to do with NXT. The indy wrestlers can still put on those matches, but you also want others to have personalities.

This is exactly what a phony company answer would be, but it’s also true in this case. NXT used to be a good mix, then swung too far in one direction and ruined it.

It’s why everyone’s favorite NXT moments are at least three or four years old - most of the characters since have sucked and there’s nothing to get invested in.

Dusty was such a huge part of NXT. That's a part they just can't replace, and probably was a big reason why NXT changed over the years since.

Promo classes and him having a special connection and investment on characters.

I remember Bayley saying how nobody in NXT really believed in that hugger character at first, but Dusty was the one most behind it and obviously seeing how that character went in NXT, it worked. And obviously not just the wrestling, but the characters we saw, especially from the womens division were such a big part of that era of NXT.

Barrett: Mandy Rose played celebrity golf at the Ryder Cup this weekend and I gave her a little advice and helped her perfect her stroke.

Vic: You don't know the first thing about golf.

Beth: I agree Vic, I overheard in the womens locker room that you (Barrett) left 2 of your balls in her purse.

The Honeymoon skits with InDex are just amazing. Johnny & Candice trying to be the good parents and having flashbacks to their own honeymoon. Love how Johnny finds.. protection, LOTS of protection and Dexter gives him a Thumbs Up at the end lol. I love this new Gargano character.

Mandy going for the NXT Women's Title was something I wasn't expecting, I thought eventually she would manage someone else who would challenge for that title since she has a Tag Team already. Considering no titles changed hands, I'm assuming no major call ups in the Draft?
