Also, they still call it Takeover 36. Is there any plan on a name or are they sticking with that?

Not sure if WWE owns the rights still, but maybe they could call it Takeover: Heat Wave? Like the old ECW PPV. Not that it needs to be ECW themed, but it's a Takeover in the summer in Orlando (since it's still in the CWC), so Heat Wave would be fitting.

Given some of the matches, specifically the main event, Breaking Point would be another good option since that PPV was about submissions (Kross vs Joe in a submission match would be a good stipulation).

What an ending for NXT. Can't say I can remember last time a wrestling shows final scene was what we saw.

Guess Gargano should've read the rules of the match. It was "love her or lose her", turns out it was the good old "heads I win, tails you lose".

Maybe it sets up a mixed tag at Takeover? And Gargano going after Beth for a second, maybe Beth gets involved too after Takeover?

Yeah we are going to have to turn Edge & Rollins for that to happen. Becky is at 2014 Daniel Bryan popularity, if you tried to portray her as a heel the fans won't buy it. You would have to have Edge & Beth be the heels. Then again, I didn't think Bryan's heel turn in 2018 to win the title would work because it was Daniel Bryan, and they made a Bayley heel turn work too. So perhaps it could work with Becky as a heel but not now.

Becky would 100% work as a heel. She was at her hottest when she was basically playing a heel just the crowd was cheering her. Just tweet her promos a bit to attack the crowd and it would work.

But yeah not right away, there’s zero chance anyone will boo her when she comes back

The news about the changes to NXT sounds like it could be more like the NXT we saw in 2012-2013. Better than WWECW, but obviously not as good as the NXT from 2014-2019.

No more guys in their 30's, no more "midgets"...yeah this is all Vince, lmao. From a reddit poster summary:

• Holy crap does tonight's WOR open with the bleakest possible NXT news. Nothing that will shock anyone based on this week but Dave clearly has first-hand details he didn't yesterday and...oh boy.
• Dave says HHH and HBK did not pick the NXT cuts. Vince, Prichard and Laurenaitis did. NXT lost the war and they're going to change, back toward an older style of development. Big guys, young guys
• Dave says there are divisive opinions about wrestling among the people in WWE and this is who has Vince's ear this week. They're going back to pre-fighting AEW, pre-"Let's out indie the indies" NXT, Dave says the Curtis Axel era of NXT
• Dave was given exact wording, doesn't say from who but seems like a company source or memo. Reads it off. "No more midgets. No one starting in their 30s. They want people who can be box office attractions and main characters."
• To be clear, that quoted part in the previous tweet is the thing from a source Dave read off. The LITERAL WORDING was "No more midgets". WOO WE'RE TURNING THE CLOCKS BACK 20 YEARS BABY.
• Dave notes there will always be exceptions to the rule, like how WWE still wants to keep Adam Cole, who is in fact not tall.
• As for Adam Cole, Dave assumes part of the meeting they had with him Friday at Smackdown was to offer her a main roster spot if he stays. Main brand writers have been told to come up with storyline ideas for him

Three out of touch old men should not be making these decisions. I guess Hunter's hard work doesn't mean anything to Vince. Bruce needs to just stick to podcasting and telling stories, not making these type of decisions in 2021. As for Johnny, considering Bayley, Sasha, Becky, and other women Hunter brought in to NXT don't really look like models, they would have never been hired by Big Johnny who only signed models.

I guess the lifers like Gargano, Ciampa and others who have been in NXT for quite a while have no future in NXT. They should get ahead and ask for their release, I imagine part of why they have stayed in NXT is because they seen how their fellow NXT stars being booked and wanted to avoid it at all cost.
