not an option. Video games are a business, and we are in the business of an annual title. You may not see a reason to release a game every year, but there are a TON of people who do.

Good question, it depends on the code my man. If the code can handle it, absolutely. I wouldn't know though until I see it in place.

The double team DDT 1:00 in. Yuke's made that game so they can do it. The moves seem to have more impact there as well so that's something to consider.
That's the Day Of Reckoning engine right? God, that engine was great. The way all the moves were so heavy and had so much impact, the way ALL the moves would feel like they "connected" no matter what angle you hit someone from, the way EVERY SINGLE MOVE interacted with EVERY wrestler on the screen allowing you to interrupt ALL moves realistically, the way you could slam on every weapon in the game without needing to be interacting with it, the AMAZING REST SUBMISSIONS HOLDS, the multiple finishers, the blood, etc.

Day Of Reckoning 1+ 2 were the closest we've gotten to No Mercy since 2000, and I wish that THQ kept that engine going. With all the upgrdes to Smackdown's engine recently (full circular running, no HUD, wrestler abilities, etc.) the DoR engine would've been crazy by this point.

            Le sigh.

Yes it is the DoR engine.

Looks like a lot could be taken from this game too:

This is more of a mixed bag. The gameplay looks a bit too slow, and some of the animations are unrealistically stiff...

BUT, some of the animation is exquisite. The push to the ropes + whip animation is REALLY nice, and the reversal system looks interesting. The grab from the hair grapple from the floor is cool, and the vertical suplex looks really good. If Smackdown could incorporate some of those things I feel it would benefit the gameplay.

Re: Marcus Stephenson Moves To THQ For SvR

Quite a few good ideas in this thread and I never thought I would be interested in the SVR forum here at OS but now that Marcus is involved it makes things very intriguing. I personally like the SVR series. In college I loved the WCW World Tour and Revenge games and after that of course No Mercy but like it or not those games were not sim gentlemen by any means....but they were loads of fun.

Anyway, I love the idea of interactive entrances, that would go along way in making me actually leave them turned ON. One thing though that I would love to see in next years title (and Marcus I know you have said in the past that you have visited Caws.ws) that we can import our own images for Caws. Paint tool was a welcomed addtion but you can see what some of the Cawmakers over there are doing with importing real images. Those are the only caws I am using from XBL because of how realistic they are. Even better, and I am not sure if it's possible due to size restrictions but it would be nice to bring in higher resolution images as well. Caws, this year, have really extended the life of the game for me. I think with you being involved we should have a nice little title in our hands for 11. Good luck and looking forward to the future of SVR....finally.

                      IMPROVEMENTS-
                      ONE WORD:

S - SUPERSTAR THREADS ( FULL CUSTOMISATION - CAN ALSO CHANGE ATTIRES, LOGOS)
                      I - IMAGINATION ( STORY DESIGNER IMPROVEMENTS)
M - MOVEMENT - UNIQUE STANCES, IF TIRED SLOWER MOVEMENTS
U - UFC: TAKE A LEAF OUT THEIR BOOK - REANIMATE ANIMATIONS IF NOT SMOOTH)
L - LOOKS (VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS, WAAAAAAYY BETTER LIKENESSES)
A - ATTIRES ( CENA HAD GREEN WRISTBANDS ON LOADING SCREEN, BUT BLUE IN GAME!)
T - TITANTRON ( LITTLE THING, BUT MINI TITANRONS WOULD BE NICE)
I - INTENT (AI SHOULD SHOW MORE INTENT,AND NOT BE ********, STARING INTO SPACE)

Have any of you guys played a Japanese game called "All Star Wrestling III?" I'm going to Japan this weekend, and may pick it up (if I can find it)

Marcus, I don't know if ever played this game but you should try out King of Colosseum 2. As for All Star Wrestling III, its a pretty good game. The player models move realistic. Its one of the few wrestling games that is "sim-like". If you can't find ASW3 you should also try to find All Star wrestling 2, both games are pretty much the same.

One thing me & my brother want & miss from Smackdown! games, is GM mode & Create-A-PPV mode. Something that seems pretty simple compared to other things, but it is what we LOVED doing in older games.

If not GM mode, at least Create-A-PPV.

And is there a chance if Story designer is back, to make it multiplayer? It was pretty boring last year.

Good luck & congrats on the job!
