I don't care how Taker lost, I knew it would be as a result of Bearer turning on him. Cheesy sure, but it's about time they let Kane take the reigns for awhile. Taker will get his revenge, most likely at Mania.

Re: Hell In A Cell 2010 - 10/3/10
Thought it was a great PPV, but they should have closed with Barrett/Cena. I know you can't not have Taker/Kane in a HIAC close it, but the booking of that main event was terrible.
Whole card was great top to bottom until that main event. The crowd was sucked dry after the Barrett/Cena match. The emotions and drama in that match, the crowd was just done. Even with a filler match, couldn't get them back.
Adding to that, WTF was the ending. I know everyone's harping on it, but I just didn't get it.
So Taker goes for the finish, lightning, darkness, and sounds start playing. When has that ever happened before. Paul Bearer then turns on a flash light. So that's Taker's weakness after all these years? A flashlight?! Taker is suddenly blinded enough that he can't see a 7 foot guy coming at him. Then loses.
WHAT?
You go from a perfectly booked Barrett/Cena match, with great drama and a perfectly booked ending to that? Seriously WWE, I really question the bookings of these guys.
Anyway, Raw will be awesome tonight, gotta assume Nexus opens it up and brings out the new Cena. This is where things will start to get very, very interesting.Comment

Re: Hell In A Cell 2010 - 10/3/10
I know that for as long as I've been watching wrestling, I've always thought Raw is better than Smackdown (and have pretty much been alone in that opinion as far as OS is concerned). Since the draft (maybe before it?) I think Raw has been consistently better than Smackdown and people started to come around. Now that Raw's main event ends with Cena joining Nexus and opens up all of those possibilities, while Smackdown's main event ends with "the light that killed the Undertaker" and I guess opens up possibilities (I dunno?), Raw has just stepped on the throat of Smackdown (IMO of course). Kudos to the writers for doing the ballsy move!
Re: The Taker-Kane ending.
Looking back on it, one of the things that made it so bad was that it was so slow. Paul Bearer is old and out of shape, and cannot get around easily. Him getting stalked into the ring was painful enough to watch. Then when Taker got hit with the light, he sold it like he was in a trance, not blind. If he was blinded, he would have covered his eyes and flailed around. Instead he sort of stood paralyzed for a long time while Bearer handed off the urn.
Now, what if Bearer was quicker. Kane quickly stalks him, he waddles to the ring, Undertaker sits up to save PB. Grabs Kane's throat for the Chokeslam (everything goes dark, lightening bolts, Taker's eyes roll, etc.), as he's grabbing him, PB shines the Urn light in Takers eyes, Taker grabs his eyes and flails, Kane then grabs Taker's throat as PB holds up the urn, the ambiance changes from blue/purple to red, Kane's flames go off on the entrance ramp, Kane chokeslams Taker. 1-2-3. PB gives the urn to Kane as he lifts it high.
Still a stupid ending, but anyone who gets a light shone in their eyes (even a flashlight) is going to get disoriented for a couple seconds, which would have been long enough for Taker to break his choke and Kane to grab Taker's throat. The problem is that Bearer is so slow, that Taker had to just stand there after getting hit with the light seemingly forever, so we are all left to wonder what the hell happened and how a "light" can be powerful enough to paralyze someone.
FYI: I Wikipedia'd PB to see how old he is. He (56) apparently had Undertaker (45) when he was 11 years old.Last edited by Streets; 10-04-2010, 09:28 AM.Comment

I'm right there with you. I was laughing my arse off when the camera was panning the crowd looking for upset kids. I couldn't of been happier. Anyone else catch Striker's comment about it's nothing but women and kids cheering for Cena all the men's voices are cheering for Barrett? I'm surprised they acknowledged that even though it's obvious.Comment

Ignoring the trash that thinks it's great that kids were crying over this, who does the WWE have that can do community outreach as good as Cena? Who connects with the kids as good as Cena? If they are turning him heel, it makes no sense to leave that void with one of your larger markets ESPECIALLY after putting Cena in his latest movie.DON'T PANICComment

I can see why the buy rates are horrible when you charge $50 for 5 matches? Why would anyone pay that?Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/GMBBrian

Sheamus/Orton- I thought the match was alright but to slow paced for my taste. I honestly was falling asleep during this match (I'm pretty sure Goh was too.)
Barrett/Cena- Hands down the best match of the night, the crowd was very into it and *Gasps* Cena did pretty well carrying a green Barrett. The more I see Barrett wrestle the better he gets, this dude is the future. The reaction of the Cena fans was awesome and priceless. Now thats how you book a match WWE kudos.
I don't think Cena carried him. They just have good chemistry. Like Cena/Edge. Having watched NXT I'm also aware Barrett is quite good. Also as you said the great booking of the whole match.

The Crowd died off at the Edge/Del Rio/Swagger stuff and didn't come alive again until Cena/Barrett. The crowd seemed evenly split during that match and after. Several kids were in tears that Cena lost and a good chunk of them and their parents left after that and going into Taker/Kane.
The crowd hated the finish of Taker/Kane as not many saw what happened or if they did, get what was happening.
After it was over Taker laid there for a few minutes until his music hit. He rolled out of the ring and sat there looking confused and angry then left.Comment

Also, I guess I didn't write it carefully in my post, but my friends and I were not laughing at the kids in the BW3 but rather what they showed on the screen.
Still LMAO at those faces. You would have thought they just saw Justin Bieber get executed.Too Old To Game Club

CM Punk had a nice comment...
@johncena Very smooth way of never having to wrestle David Otunga ever again. I'm on to you.
(and his ED 209 fell down the stairs)
Also Cena's/WWE Universe facebook page is just as,if not more amusing than it was after the initial Nexus beatdown.Comment
