Re: It's almost future endeavor time!
It was sad to see what happened to him after his good run on Smackdown as a heel. Turning him was part of the problem, but also I think his health and subsequent weight gain hurt his in-ring work.
The cover story in the Pittsburgh City Paper this week about the WWE's Wellness Program -- the people who developed it are from Pittsburgh -- with lots of quotes from wrestlers. MVP stated it probably saved his life because the testing discovered a heart ailment that can be deadly when combined with intense physical exertion. I know he was never in the best shape, but it's rather obvious he's carrying too much now, and one can assume his heart condition limits the amount/type of training he can do.
While I think he was competent in the ring in the past, his ability to draw heat and play the cocky heel is what made him. Now as a face that's overweight and lacking direction, his departure doesn't disappoint me too much. Although I was always waiting for him to cut an awesome heel turn promo where he went back to his arrogant roots after acccomplishing nothing doing things "the right way"...Last edited by Qb; 12-03-2010, 03:26 PM.Comment

The face turn was a bad idea. He got no reaction, except for 'ballin' which is a poor man's People Elbow/Five Knuckle Shuffle move. He was a natural heel and like you QB, I kept waiting for him to turn back but it never happened.Currently Playing:

Re: It's almost future endeavor time!
I think it was addressed via surgery, but I'm assuming it must be part of the reason why he's put on weight. But, I've also heard the WWE brass was never happy with his conditioning and that was the reason for his "power ranger" attire. So maybe I'm jumping to conclusions...Comment

I believe I read somewhere that they wanted to turn MVP heel and do something with his prison incarceration, but due to the PG guidelines creative had to abide to, their hands were tied.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

Re: It's almost future endeavor time!
The bodybuilder physique does nothing for a lot of people and I think it's vastly overrated when it comes to pro wrestling. Give me a guy that can put on an entertaining match over a 'roided up (allegedly) guy that can only manage to work 5-8 minutes before he blows up.Currently Playing:

Re: It's almost future endeavor time!
It kinda sucks they got rid of MVP. It seemed like they were giving him a bit of a push when he had that brief feud with Ziggler. I pretty much liked MVP in his feud with Matt Hardy back in 2007.Comment
