Low Ki was doing a dark match in MSG in 2000/01, Vince saw him backstage and asked out loud "Who's the little ****er?" or something along those lines.

He has been as a hard person to deal with, so I'm not surprised.

Honestly I think WWE never took NXT seriously and never really gave a damn about it after the first season.

Yeah, these shows like NXT, Tough Enough, even ECW at the end, etc. are just platforms to bring in all their new young talent. Regardless of who wins or loses, the cream will always rise to the top and those that can hack it will earn a spot. I don't think Miz or Morrison won Tough Enough, but I am damn happy that the WWE kept them around and pushed them despite them "losing".

It's funny, but I was very vocal during season 2 about Riley, Husky, and McGillicutty being my three favorites and ones I pegged to "make it", with Percy and Kaval in that next tier. Kind of cool to see the three of them making it.

I found the old post, actually.

        1. Alex Riley- His Starbucks promo was the best I've heard this season and overall I think only Bryan has him matched overall on the mic. In ring he's pretty good too, and I love his finisher. His gimmick is becoming more fleshed out. He's not just "the high school bully", but is developing a relationship with the WWE Universe saying "I'm not going to change for votes". Pretty cool. He's my clear cut favorite in this competition and I hope he wins it all.

        2. Husky Harris- The guy is obviously unique, and is very intriguing. I love his attitude, the way he cuts promos, his athleticism. He has grown leaps and bounds during the competition and has rocketed up my list. His finisher sucks though. You can't win championships like that (maybe in the 80's).

        3. Michael McGillicutty- He was my #1 based on first impressions and I still like him, but he seems kind of bland to me since he started leaning face and pandering to the crowd. That said, he has a built in gimmick based on who his father is, and I could see him being a great heel.

        4. Kaval- He's pretty awesome in the ring, but is undersized, has an annoying voice, and is unbelievably boring on the mic. I just don't care about him, which is a problem. The one thing I like about him is his attitude in the ring. Rather than playing the scrappy underdog who pulls out the victory (Rey, Bourne, etc.), he comes in with an attitude like he's 7 feet tall. Reminds me of Taz in that way.

I don't think Kaval had what it took to get over either. I don't see how he didn't get a shot. He had every opportunity to get over w/the crowd for sympathy, whether it was the honor storyline from the losing streak storyline to the honor storyline in losing his spot at Bragging Rights to Reks, to the match w/ Zigs. It's obvious something just wasn't clicking. He wasn't over. It's not that he didn't get a shot. And if he wasn't patient enough to wait it out and try to get better, I say good riddance.

              And I'll just say - @Streets - I agree w/ you on all counts. :P

Here - someone from another forum I post on said it better than I ever could.

The truth of the matter is that Kaval was never really that good. He doesn't emote well, and his move set is all over the place. You aren't going to get over in the WWE working like that. Sure the Independent crowd, and some of the fans of the moves, etc will go nuts with this and start saying "the WWE doesn't respect wrestling!" "They never gave Kaval a chance." Listen, the truth is, he is not that good.

Kaval was never going to be a main event star, and it would have been hard to see him even as a competent mid carder for this company. There are niches that the WWE management expects you to figure out, and develop yourself to fit their niches. What niche could Kaval have really fit? He is not really a high flyer, and he isn't a submission/European style worker. So that basically leaves his unorthodox gyrations, and kick based offense.

I just hope Kaval does this with class and doesn't start saying "well I asked for my release because they didn't let me shine. They didn't let me be me." I have very little faith in terms of wrestlers, and how they act on the internet anymore. Although, I was never a big Kaval fan, I'd respect him A LOT more if he just came out and said "you know what, it really is not a good fit, and that's okay."

LOL, so am I a face or a heel? I'd guess heel because my opinion isn't the popular one on here, but face because I'm not really cheap shot-ing, name-calling, or low-blowing anyone. I personally like that we have all different types of wrestling fans with different interests and opinions, it's what keeps me coming here. I wouldn't want to exclude anyone. It'd be boring if everyone thought like me. I think it's funny though that my opinions irk people so much. I mean seriously 55, you'd rather ignore my post and petition to ban me (a "Randy Orton mark" as you called me) then to have a civil discussion about something we all love (I think). [Insert whistle smiley].

Morrison did in fact win. Miz was second to Daniel Puder. Might as well see how the rest worked out...

Josh Matthews is the only one still there from the original. The winners,Maven & Nidia are long gone and Chris Nowinski retired due to concussions.

The second was won by Jackie Gayda and Shaniqua. Long gone. Kenny Layne is in ROH and Matt Morgan is in TNA.

JoMo and Matt Cappotelli won the third. JoMo is getting a world title shot at the next PPV and Cappotelli's carrer cut short with that unfortuante situation. Melina tried out for it but didn't make it.

#4 was the one Puder won with Miz in 2nd. Puder still undefeated in MMA and working for New Japan. Also on the show was Mitch from the Spirit Squad, the infamous "how old are you?!" incident with what turned out to be the Boogie Man and suprisingly Skip Sheffield was on the show.

Nah it's just the Festivus airing of grievances.

Apprently they're suprised as everyone else...

WWE releasing Kaval (Brandon Silvestry) yesterday came as a surprise to a number of higher-ups within the company and the continued talk is that it was more his decision to leave. As noted earlier, the company appeared to have made a decision where they didn’t have big plans for his character and it led to frustration on his end.

I, personally, will miss kaval. At least what he could have been. Seeing what he could do with a push and a proper feud/gimmick before he got to the E I had really high hopes for him. I hoped they would push him more in the "japanese buzzsaw" Tajiri mode than a Rey mysterio or comedy bit role.

With that said I can understand streets and others not really caring about him leaving. The dude had no gimmick or direction. He would just randomly pop up backstage. Although kaval put on a great match at a ppv with ziggler it wasnt worth a quarter to me because I didnt care about either of those guys. I'd even argue that the only reason naval won nxt was because he was paired with two chicks that are insanely over (lay cool). Keepin mind that this is coming from a kaval/lo ki fan.
