I actually started off worried when he was smiling so big and eating it up...I was relieved when he started really milking it, as I knew it was just plain trolling. I know it's not going to sit well with everyone (for various reasons) and I can get why, but for me it was a perfect return in that it was all just so...Jericho. I guess I'm just happy that they are at least attempting to strive for longer termed development. Between that and Punk/Dolph (I'd like to see them have a clean match in this little feud though), I can't wait for next week.
    I think it was brilliant...although...he didn't call anyone a sycophant :-(

Well WWE needs top faces so I hope Jericho doesn't turn. Thought his return was great though, just a bit disappointed we didn't hear from the great man.

Thought the Jericho return was terrible.

Jericho is in my top 3 wrestlers of all time, but I admit I was hoping it was someone else last night mainly because Jericho was too obvious.

The build up, didn't match what came out though. I don't care that he didn't speak, that at least made sense, he hammed it up like a moron and then left trolling the audience. My issue is how the whole set up began and was executed.

The videos, creepy as hell for weeks (which for some reason Cole/Lawler never acknowledged once), then it finally airs in the arena (Cole/Lawler still seemed oblivous to the actual video, just the return). The ground shaking? Please.

So then it's Jericho (worst secret ever) and he's there with a jacket that lights up and comes out all happy go lucky. Smiling ear to ear like an idiot.

No matter how you want to play that, none of that matched those videos. None of that explained "she". "She said it was time". So out comes supper happy Jericho? Again, I get that point, but the videos ended up being pointless. They just didn't match. He needed to come out and in the Punk match. But now you've set in motion a Punk/Ziggler feud. Cena's in 2 feud's and Miz is in a feud, so who is Jericho going to feud with? Again, who is "she"??

I know give it time, and things will be explained. But I'm sorry, WWE doesn't have a good history of giving things time. Nexus, CM Punk's leaving angle, etc..these are 2 big things in the last 2 years that everyone said give it time and both fell totally flat.

I'm almost wondering if WWE had a different idea for Jericho's return than he did. And they had already started the videos, so had to conclude them.

None of it made sense...and I don't need to "understand" to realize it came off poorly as a whole.

I'm glad he's back, and I'm sure he'll make a few feuds work like magic, and have some good things to say and play the heel role perfectly on Raw for awhile. But the buildup just didn't match it.

Was it the worst kept secret ever? Up until the last promo I had no real idea it would be Jericho. If it wasn't for internet discussion about how it even COULD be Jericho and if it wasn't for seeing his name randomly around this board or on Twitter, Jericho wouldn't even cross my mind.

There is something to this, whatever it is.

I wouldn't have done it like this. Would have just done a normal return where he comes in (with the "she") and explains what he's back for, but I'm going to see what he says first before declaring it stupid. Right now, it's awesome if they go where I'm imagining them going with it.

The biggest problem I have with it all is that it wasn't to end the show.

Extreme, it's not like the whole angle is supposed to play out in one night. Give it some time. Who says she can't be revealed next week? Who says mentions of the video don't come up, although it has been explained before they were meant to possibly be for the Undertaker (though no clue how a she fits in there either and don't say McCool).

I am fine with it. I am willing to let it play out. I think too many people rush and go, "Well so much for that," as if after 10 minutes he leaves again.

Rewatching it again, and the whole thing seemed to be a parody of epic, overblown returns like Taker and Rock. Maybe I'm misreading it, or reading too much into it...but the hamming it up was obviously intentionally overdone. The lights going out was similar to what happened when Rock returned. It's almost like a critique of overblown returns, and I expect him to come out next week and say what fools the fans are for cheering him like monkeys (or something like that )

I can see how some could be upset about it, but I'd suggest just rewatching it and noticing some of the small things and it's clear that Jericho's trolling the fans.

Also remember Jericho said if he ever returned he wanted to do something different and something that had never been done before. I'm pretty sure a guy has never turned on the fans while actually literally pandering to them. But again, maybe I'm totally wrong and misreading this.

This is basically how I saw it, and I loved it.

My gf and I were watching last night and, being that she has never really gotten into wrestling, she didn't understand why I was so excited when it was Jericho who came out. Then, once it was giving off the feeling of going on a little too long, she started laughing at me. She was even more confused when I shouted "HEEL JERICHO!!!" in celebration.

Oh I agree, I know what he was doing. Like I said, the actual point of him coming out as he did, and him hamming it up and leaving was fine.

For me, Jericho was the most logical choice from day one. His ties with WWE, his last 2 debuts both had long video lead up's and the notebook that "she" tossed on the ground had Chris written on it.

Plus the tons of talk about it all over the IWC.

The way it happened though, it makes ZERO sense why it didn't end the show.

Re-read what I wrote, I've been down this "let it play out" thing before, and been disappointed.

I have a feeling She will end up being like the anonymous Raw GM.

I hope you're right. I don't want to be right on this, trust me.

I want to be entertained, Jericho is one of the best at doing that. I have no fears at all that Jericho will make a very intersting 2012 in the ring. I have no issues with his return, it just didn't work for me.

Well I have no idea what the 'she' is, but I'm guessing that it isn't literally a she and Stephanie isn't returning anytime soon. I did see some good ideas on Youtube (I know, it's Youtube) about what the she could be a metaphor for.

"The girl = CM Punk or even the majority of the wwe superstars today. The boy in the videos shown over the weeks has been writing in a book. The girl was constantly peeking and in his ear, when he left the girl picks up the book and becomes frustrated that she cannot do it. The ball represents the ball literally being dropped when jericho left and in one of the videos the girl picks it up and smiles. There is more to it im sure but there is more within the videos than the words."

"I think the girl is CM Punk in a way. Notice in the promos she's looking at the book the boy is writing in? And knocks it off his desk? I think that's symbolic for some sort of degree of plagiarism. As in, almost like the girl is copying from it making the boy be "rebirthed" and to "claim what is his". That's my theory, anyway. Think of it like this: Punk says he's the best in the world. It's even on his T-shirt. But Jericho has said he's the best in the world years before."

That may not be right on, but it's certainly makes more sense than thinking Stephanie (who, let's be honest, people never really cared about one way or another when she was around) would be the she.

That's a lie... sort of. I'm pretty sure a lot of us cared to see her show off on Smackdown every week, am I right? Only reason I tuned in there for awhile.

Read and heard the same things. But, if that's the reason (and it does make sense), why would he not come out in the middle of the Punk match? Why would they start a new program with Punk/Ziggler?

I question those actions, and I know some answers people will say (to throw people off, swerve, etc), but for continuality sakes, it makes no sense. Unless the Ziggler/Punk feud ends at the Rumble, I don't even know who Jericho feuds with.
