The show feels way too scripted, and I'm not just talking promos. It's like they are given a template every week and just fill in the blanks. You're watching the exact same show just with different faces. I can watch a past Raw from 5-10 years ago and it just feels like the same thing I'm watching with different people. Same format, same feel, same everything.

Re: WWE Off-Topic
I understand many peoples optimism for change, but at the same time, WWE has been incredibly successful the past 5 years, I don't think they're exactly looking for a big shake-up of anything. Also Vince is still a shareholder, and the company still reports to the shareholders.Support Local Sports

Re: WWE Off-Topic
This is true. Honestly I feel like Excalibur in AEW is veering in that direction and I'm worried. The fact is being the lead on a wrestling show in 2022 is completely different than doing what Gordon Solie did in the 1970s, or even what JR did in the 1980-1990s. Wrestling on TV in general now has the vibe of "STUFF IS HAPPENING PLEASE KEEP WATCHING," while back in the day there wasn't always that desperation. It didn't just flip overnight, but it's the reason there's never a 1 or 2 man booth anymore.Comment

Torrie Wilson turned 47 yesterday, Finn Balor turned 41 today. I'm not sure if it surprises me more that there is less than 10 years seperating Torrie & Finn in age or the fact both are in their 40's. It really does seem both would be in low 30's the way they look.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
The term Title Belts are back as the new WWE Shop now sells Title Belts instead of Championship Titles. Guess Triple H hated the term Championship Titles.

Re: WWE Off-Topic
I hope a lot of the "Vince - isms" go away. I am okay with the talent referring to themselves as "sports entertainers" (or making that and "pro wrestlers" interchangeable again), but all the other stupid "banned" words gotta go.
Let the talent use common words and speak like actual people, again.

But I don't mind the sports entertainment part either. To me, sports entertainment involves pro wrestling, whereas pro wrestling doesn't always involve sports entertainment.
People just coming together and competing in the ring is pro wrestling. The characters, stories, gimmicks and everything else we see is what turns it into sports entertainment.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
I swear I could not watch a single second of WWE programming for 6 months and I'll watch a YouTube clip of one match and hear "championship opportunity" and it's enough to annoy the **** out of me. Controlling language to that degree was never needed, and it takes the fun out of something that's supposed to be fun.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
Someone on Reddit Posted a clip of Triple H on the Austin Podcast from 2015, saying how if he could change anything that he would revert RAW back to 2 hours. Austin then asked him if WWE was "married" to the 3 hour show and Hunter replied, "It's a Vince call."
Now that he and Stephanie are in control, let's hope RAW goes back to 2 hours. I know financially they make money from the third hour but it's not like they need the money.

How do you pitch that to the board of directors, the loss of revenue, that is?Support Local Sports

Re: WWE Off-Topic
I get that it's a USA decision/edict, but if 3 hours is automatically better than 2, then they should go to 4 hours and there's no argument against it. Why haven't they gone to 4 hours? It would be more content and more money. They have to know that in reality more isn't automatically better. Are 5 hour baseball games better for TV than a 2.5 hour one?Comment

Let's say you lose 5M a year from the show being 2 hours instead of 3. Counter that by saying 1 less hour means less talent needed for the show, so you could "free up" at least 5 million in money from having less talent under contract.Comment

Re: WWE Off-Topic
For it to make sense, you have to justify the cuts.

Which means nothing to USA. They’re gonna wanna know where their ad revenue is getting made up.
