Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
I usually see the AI use their finishers on me directly after a reversal, which is pretty cool. I have come to terms that the AI is not going to be perfect, and for more experienced gamers we will have to play with some house rules. This is not a problem for me, because when I play a match I don't have to be all over the CPU and be overly aggressive from start to finish; real WWE programming is not like that and I play to mimic real programming as best as possible. I made the attribute edits and slider edits to challenge myself, which has worked for me because my win/loss ratio is about 60/40 now, and with the house rules I use I am having a ton of fun with the game.
Basically, if you expect the AI to behave like a human 100% of the time you will be disappointed - it's just not gonna happen. If you can learn to live with the shortcomings of the AI and implement some house rules then you will start to enjoy the game over time.
For what its worth, my house rules:
1. When AI hits finishers, close eyes until the 1 1/2 or 2 count by the ref, then try to kick out.
2. One attempt at a reversal per grapple. Ex: theres 2+ windows to reverse a move by the CPU (I say 2+ because sometimes they go from say a headlock to a waist lock, then perform the move). The window that you will see reversals more is the window AFTER the initial "grab" (between the first grab and the move itself), so I try to reverse the INITIAL grab more so than the one in between.
3. If you go on a big run with the CPU not getting any moves in, don't reverse for a few moves.
4. DO NOT "spam" any one move, use a variety. Don't go for running grapple after running grapple.
4a. Play to your characters strengths. If you are Punk, strike a lot. If you are Mark Henry, use your grapple moves. If you are a high flyer, use those moves to your advantage.
Thats basically it. If you are playing this game just to beat the **** out of the CPU and expect a great challenge, you will only get that by them doing reversals. If you learn to play differently then you will learn to love the game for what it is.Comment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
For me to have the most realism finishers and foreign object damage have to be at max, a finisher is a finisher and only in rare cases do guys kick out of them, if I have to hit my finisher 10 times in 1 match to get the 3 its not realistic but otherwise all these sliders sound great and I'm looking forward to testing them.Comment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
Umhester's advice is very good. The only way to enjoy this game if your not a beginner is to play with house rules. Sometimes its about enjoying the experience of the match instead of trying to get the most challenge out of it. The AI is pretty weak so unfortunately tweaks with the sliders are a must. I tried to max out everything in regards to AI sliders while completely reducing the sliders for General but the result is challenging gameplay because of reversals, but lack of a fun back realistic wrestling match. But experienced players will still win 9/10 due to the AI not being aggressive/intelligent enough). Imo, use umhester's slider set and house rules advice. you might enjoy the game 10x more. I might try the attributes set, but I'm holding out because I'm still not sure if I want to spend another dime on this game which has been a disappointment. The reason being is that a quality 60$ wrestling game should not have to be modified with house rules to enjoy it. Fire pro wrestling has awesome AI and its 1-10 difficulty level beats thq's easy, normal, hard, legend crap. Its been a decade of wwe games from thq.... I expected more from them. But hey life isn't perfect.
One question to umhester...... Are you still playing with the sliders the way they are? For specifically the AI sliders. Because I think the ai grapple and strike reversals should be up a few more clicks.Comment

Good call guys. With these sliders, I'm sure if I played "realistically" I'd get my *** handed to me half the time. I will try tonight. These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.Comment

Yeah im playing with the same set except with both finisher reversal sliders max'd out. IMO the CPU reverses quite a bit with it at 3, but we might see things differently, so if you feel the need to increase those sliders then definitely do it and report back.
As for the attributes, I made a good amount of changes to some categories - so if anyone wants an updated version I will post it probably thursday or friday...school is really picking up because all the professors want to get tests in before Thanksgiving break, so I will get these out ASAP along with the CAWS I said I would try to rate for R9NALD9.Comment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
Hourmkn Slider Set
Difficulty: Legend
AI: 15 - 18 - 16 - 17 - 20 - 17
Damage: 18 - 15
General: 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 5 - 8 - 5 - 5
After I would say 10-12 hours or so of exhibition play I've finally settled on these sliders. Umhester has perfect house made rules that should be followed. For Example:
1) Only press reversal One Time.
2) During pinfall, wait for ref's one count before you begin trying to kick out
I have experienced the following:
1) Matches where the AI will not repeatedly throw you outside the ring for an omg moment but kick your arse purely in the ring.
2) Matches where the AI would intelligently use his finisher immediately and go for the pin without storing it.
3) They still like to prep the announcer's table most of the time
This set proved to be the most enjoyable for me challenge wise. The AI is a threat every match.
However I have not used umhester's attributes settings. So I am unaware if his attribute settings along with his easier slider sets provide better matches then mines.Comment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
Ok so I got around to all the attribute edits. R9nald9, I could only do a few of those guys cause I really didn't watch many of them enough to give an accurate representation, sorry about that.
BTW if a superstars attributes are different (ex: say Shaemus has a different strike power in the "ALL" section compared to the "By Category" section, go with the "ALL" section's attributes.Attached FilesComment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
Those settings (I did tweak them a bit) worked great for me. I still find the AI horribly generic (becomes very obvious if you sim the AI against itself) but they stopped running outside the ring every other minute and, in the handful of matches I've simmed, they didn't set up the announcing table once so well done!"It's all in the reflexes." - Jack BurtonComment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
I still play SvR 06 and 07 on ps2. 06 introduced sliders and was the version in which the sliders were the most sensitive. Difficulty from 07-current hasn't changed much if you are a veteran player.
But these settings give me a good challenge almost every match. Some matches give me squash matches but hey that happens in real WWE. I win about 60% of the time when before I'd win 90%+. Curious to know if these still work well in 13.
Difficulty: Hard- This is the best setting without it becoming reversal fest and also the best for CPU vs CPU. Now I don't watch CPU matches but sometimes they appear such as in Elimination Chamber and you are still waiting in the cage or tag matches. These sliders should work well in CPU vs CPU matches.
Reversal Indicators: Off
AI Reversals:
Standing Strike: 15
Standing Grapple: 13
Ground Strike: 15
Ground Grapple: 13
Finisher Reversal: 20 (must be at max so you don't automatically feel like a finisher stored=win and humans get the stored finisher more often than CPU)
Foreign Attack Reversal: 20 (this is necessary in matches with lots of weapons-hardcore/tlc, etc) Even though at times it becomes unrealistic with the weapon reversals, in real life wrestlers tend to 'escape' from hits as oppose to reverse weapon attacks-however this is not possible in video game world.
Damage:
Finisher Strength: 8 (Want it to inflict damage but not always=victory especially if the match length is short)
Foreign Object Strength: 7 (In weapon heavy matches, don't want one shot=victory or inflict too much damage so 7 should be good)
General:
Standing Strike: 5
Standing Grapple: 3
Ground Strike: 5
Ground Grapple: 3
Finisher Reversal: 10
Foreign Object Reversal: 10
Momentum Rate Attacks: 8 (Not sure how fast the momentum charges up but set too low and CPU rarely can get a finisher) If it's too fast for CPU set it to 6.
Momentum Rate Taunts: 6 (Same as above, if momentum from taunts is too high set it to 4)
Adrenaline Rate: 6Comment

Re: WWE 13 Slider Thread
Can someone explain what the ADRENALINE (On / Off) setting is for in the slider settings? We have an adrenaline rate slider, so if this is turned off, doe the adrenaline slider get affected?
update: nevermind. It's the "new" staimina meter.Last edited by Steven547; 11-18-2012, 01:00 PM.Comment
