I am pushing through it. Not all of it is bad but the dungeon of doom stuff was hot garbage. I'm at Uncesnored now with the triple cage match between the mega powers and then dungeon/horsemen. The tag division is pretty nice right now with Harlem Heat, The Steiners, Nasty Boys, Road Warrios, Public Enemy, Faces of Fear and Sting and Luger. The carenas are starting to fill up and the crowds are getting hotter. I think once the outsiders show up, I'll really start watching it a lot more.

Oh c'mon. Harlem Heat debuting in chains didnt do it for you?

EDIT: And to add, being led by those chains by a white guy with a southern accent in a suit?

Most expensive match ever? In terms of what they were paid. All that was right and wrong with WCW Nitro at its height, right here lol.

I know. I was going to say the same thing about Warrior.

Weird to see their entrances without their WWF music.

Bischoff was about ratings, not PPV buys. Hence why Hogan vs. Goldberg was in the Georgia Dome on Nitro yet, Bash at the Beach was that following Sunday. They could've sold a ton of PPV buys if they just would've waited six days. Sting vs. DDP? Not on PPV, on Nitro. Sting vs. Hogan, the rematch? Same thing. Ridiculous.

Watched the Shane "tell all" special last night. It was OK. Not surprisingly, the things you wanted him to in-depth about, he was vague and evasive.

After Monday's Raw their airing a WWE 24 on Rollins knee surgery recovery. For a guy they're trying to get fans to dislike, airing something like this will most likely show how hard he worked to get back and make him out to be a sympathetic figure. I'd hold off on airing it at least a couple of weeks and let him try to re-establish himself as a top heel.

Yeah though truth be told as i've said in various posts here. WCW had always been a TV product first and foremost. As hard as it might seem to some people Turner had an appreciation and respect for the company as Jim Crockett Promotions all the way back in the late '70s helped to establish and prop up TBS along with the Braves. It's not surprising that once Turner lost control of his assets the suits completely destroyed the one thing that everybody craves these days: "brand identification". They killed WCW, chopped down the presence of Braves games on TBS and then adding insult to injury they either sold or split the TBS brand by taking the actual local Atlanta station which for just about its entire existence was running on a national feed and turning it into the local Peachtree TV while TBS was spun off into its own national entity completely different than what it used to be.

Which is why I disagree when people say that WCW was clearly the top wrestling company for that period, just because they had better ratings on Monday nights. Everyone who worked for both companies at the time said that WWE was light years ahead in terms of running a wrestling company, TV production, booking PPVs, booking individual matches from start to finish etc. All Bischoff was doing was throwing money at former WWE guys specifically to get that one rating up.
