    WWE Network Discussion Thread

I'm curious what was cut out because Cornette said they recorded over an hour of material on his podcast.

I'm sure they do that for everyone. It's a show. You have to have more content than you'll be showing so you can edit it down to include just most interesting parts

I didn't know E&C have a podcast. Time to add that to my podcatcher.

Anywho, I was watching the Bruno Sammartino collection that dropped this week and something came to mind for me. There were a few matches in there where there were no TV commentary. It wouldn't kill WWE to bring in a wrestling historian and a WWE employee to lay down some audio and give some perspective to what we're watching. That being said it's awesome that they're putting up stuff like that. Some of the non commentator matches are of GREAT video quality.

          Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Not sure where to put the first part of this post so i'll lump it in with my Network match stuff.

          1. Bring it to the Table is one weird mish mash of a show. They try to make it seem legit but then crawl right back to what amounts to modern kayfabe. (parroting the WWE storyline/narrative) This is especially true with JBL who kept switching back and forth from legit talk to parroting the WWE line. There was one line of conversation about the worst segment in RAW history. The three guys focused on stuff that weren't even all that bad. No mention of Katie Vick, no mention of Mae Young giving birth to a hand or any number of the "Kiss my *** Club" crap segments. Yes, some of that stuff was great in the moment but hoo boy, when you look at it now you just cringe hard. JBL had the temerity to say that the first This Is Your Life segment with Rock and Foley was terrible but only because of the two guys did it work. That is true to an extent BUT on its own it was entertaining. It's this kind of stuff that makes me shake my head.

Gotta say, the stuff about indy wrestling "diving" did produce a good back and forth between Graves and JBL so it wasn't a total waste of a show.

Anywho, I watched a few of the matches from the Ladder Match Collection. It's amazing how the match evolved over the years. Watching the first WWE ladder match was pretty interesting and I would put it just a shade below the famous HBK/Razor match for a couple reasons:

          1. They took a few less risks which is understandable
          2. HBK's selling was way too over exaggerated. It wasn't at the comical lengths of when he mocked Hogan in their match but it was pretty bad.

I also watched the WWECW matches with RVD since that's a major blind spot with me. Holy hell, the match with Sabu was batcrap insane stuff. It looked like they botched a few spots though but still, the story was pretty good and if it hadn't had a screwy finish with the Big Show i'd have been very satisfied with it. Speaking of Big Show his match with RVD wasn't the greatest but it showed why blood can be a good thing when done correctly. Big Show got real bloody but it helped to underscore the fact that he was a monster at that time and RVD causing him to bleed brought Big Show to his level a bit which gave him a fighting chance psychologically.

Last but not least the NXT Arrival ladder match between Neville and Bo Dallas was AWESOME! No need to say more

Are JBL and Rosenberg still full of terrible banter? That's the main reason I don't watch Bring It to the Table any more (also, it's just not that interesting). Their back and forth is always so forced and fake.

It does seem a bit forced between the two. At the end of the show Rosenberg put up an embarrassing picture of JBL and Bruce Pritchard and JBL was all like "you stole my phone" and at the very end of the show he screams "you son of a bitch" of course the B word got bleeped which I thought was kind of silly.

I saw Rosenberg was on that show, when does that dude ever sleep. He does mornings everyday at Hot 97. Goes right to the Michael Kay show at ESPN NY.

They should get Dave Legreca(sp?) I like him on that Busted Open podcast

                  Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

I finally hit a moment of being fed up with the old product (2001) last night. First time I've turned it off in annoyance.

Every damn show starts with either a 10 minute monolog by HHH (God he's so ****ing boring at this point), Vince, or Steph or superstar A interrupting superstar B and then one of the three previously mentioned people making a match. Every. Damn. Show. And between 3D, Hardyz, E&C, Rock, HHH, Taker, SCSA, Kane, and Rikishi; there's a six man tag every. Damn. Show.

I'm right after the Rumble and while I hated the SCSA/McMahon pairing, maybe that **** was needed to stir some things up because right now this **** is repetitive as ****.

Ironic that it's very similar to today's ****.....

We're gonna push forward again some time today.

Also, Big Show has to be one of the biggest flops coming over from WCW. He just returned and I really didn't realize he was even gone.

Lana's first match is a title shot. Shinsuke's was an exhibition curtain jerker against a guy they've burying for a decade and not a third the match those guys are capable of.
