Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I don't know if Eddie will be as hard to watch for me. Similarly with all these other people who died. Anything Benoit related though might be weird to see.
But Owens is just the hardest one to get over, and I never even watched back then. Eddie I had seen almost his entire WWE run, but Owens is just tougher. Not just cause it happened during a show, but he really was one of those good guys that everyone loved and just so many great and funny Owen stories.
Though for Owen, part of me thinks we might not have seen him as WWF champ. Don't know what his career plans were, but at most I could've seen them give him a Benoit/Christian/Henry type of veteran title run in the 00s if he was planning on going for a number of more years. Who knows, maybe he might've been that guy in 2004 to beat HBK/HHH for the world title!? And imagine Bret inducted into HOF that same year too.
Gotta stop thinking about "what ifs", it's too bittersweet.
Owen wasn’t going to stick around that long. Owen was a guy who was very good with his money and never spent while on the road because he’d planned to retire early and spend his time with his family. He wanted to go to WCW with Bret and the others after SS but Vince refused to let him out his contract. Once that WWE deal was up he was going to retire. He was only going to stick around WCW for a year or two too make enough money that he felt comfortable retiring on if Vince hadn’t forced him to stay.
I don’t think he ever would have gotten that world title run either. Had he stuck around for the time of two world titles, I think he might have gotten one, but as long as the WWE title was still the only major title in the company and still being kept fairly stably with one guy for longer reigns, I don’t think it was in the cards for him.

Yeah, there’s a ton more Owen Hart to come at that point. That was actually a funny little program they put him in and was similar to the Mr America gimmick I mentioned earlier with Hogan where Owen was claiming that he was retired because of the Severn thing and he wasn’t the Blue Blazer even though he clearly was. Fun little program there for Owen and a good lead in to what he would eventually be doing for the majority of his last few months before they inexplicably put him back in the Blazer gimmick. Trying not to say too much about what happens since you’re trying to avoid the old spoilers Maj haha.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Judgement Day 98. Ok show. None of the matches (that I watched) were really entertaining. Even the result for these matches weren't too significant(imo, biggest result being Christian winning Light HW title)
Chicago crowd. XPAC got HUGE reaction! I believe this was the first instance of The Rocks people elbow involving him actually throwing his elbow pad to the crowd. And the main event with Austin as ref(funny hearing King talking about how Chicago is the only city that'd chant for the referee). All this leading to McMahon firing Austin.
McMahon as he would say, has "grapefruits"(fittingly, first time he refers to his grapefruits was an episode or two ago). No fear at all, just "in your face". His character on TV was so good. Doesn't back away from anyone(including things he said to Taker/Kane, and even told both of them that they're number 1 lol). And even just himself playing the character, people literally threw all sorts of stuff at him on live tv, and he just took it. Clothes, items from merchandise stands, cans, all sorts of stuff.
I'll never get tired of this era Undertaker/Kane entrances(especially Undertakers theme right before ministry. His last one is probably his best ever, but this is the coolest one). And Kanes entrance at Judgement Day looked so cool. As JR would say "hellfire and brimstone"!

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Watching Photo Shoot on Kogi Kingston and they actually mentioned CM Punk and had Kofi talk about their friendship..... interesting. Then again Jeff Jarrett is going into the HOF this year so if that's happening then I shouldn't be surprised they are mentioning Punk.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Not to mention I believe his issue was also with hhh/Steph? Hhh has been guy patching things up with people who left on bad terms with Vince, but how can he patch things up with someone on bad terms with him?
Although I'm looking forward to the day we get punk/AJ VS hhh/Steph. The promos, imagine the promos.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
The next confirmed classic content dump will be on April 2nd, 100ish hours of WCW Saturday Night starting in 1992! Unlike its status as the "C" show during the Monday Night Wars, WCW Saturday Night was their flagship show before Monday Nitro existed.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'm happy we're getting WCW Saturday night, but I hope they do something to fill the gap from 89-92 where the current NWA/WCW weekly programming they have ends and where WCW Saturday Night starts, or we're going to miss the forming of The Dangerous AllianceComment
