Such a great promo. This is how you get people to buy into the action inside the ring, make a match and a title mean something.

Been awhile, but I'm back to watching raw. They changed once survivor series ended. New intro and graphics for the show.

The raw where Hawk almost jumped off the tron.

Main event of rock VS Austin for the title, interrupted by undertaker hitting Austin with a shovel and leaving.

That opening promo is exactly how big heel turns should go. Denounce all things about yourself fans liked, change character, remind them about when they used to boo you, and then go step by step explaining how this huge plan came together.

Almost done November 98. HBK named Commish! Beginning of PMS lol. A downside to not being able to watch heat, you miss some things happening that continues on raw with no backstory. Job Squad appears! Guessing they formed on heat? They help mankind retain hardcore title and then help Duane gill win the light heavyweight title.

Undertaker tries to kill/dissect Austin!? And raw ends with HBK turning on DX! Side note, dx with just nao/xpac once hhh got injured at summerslam really isn't exciting.

Speaking of things that happened on Heat... Ed Ferrara as "Oklahoma" getting dropped on his head by Dr. Death. An all-time holy **** bump.

I don't ever remember him being Oklahoma in WWF, I thought that was just a WCW thing. One hell of a suplex though

He probably didn't have that name in WWE. I think that was literally the only time he was on their TV.

That’s awesome. I’m not far from the start of Heat and will need it to fill in the gaps.

Would be nice getting Heat episodes up. From my watching of Raw, seems like some stuff I'm being out of the loop about because it happened on Heat. Near end of 98 and I didn't see some stables form or superstars debut, but they just appear on Raw like normal.

Speaking of the Raw I'm on, saw a Stephanie McMahon cameo(during a backstage segment with Austin), this obviously was before she really made her debut. During that segment, Undertaker locks Austin in some room/freezer? Austin eventually escapes,

Show basically revolved around Mark Henrys date with Chyna. Dropping in on diff segments throughout the entire night.

Weird seeing commissioner HBK being all corporate. I wonder if there was any kind of legit heat between HBK and anyone else within DX, especially with him being in original DX and the new DX being way more popular.

And the "after Raw" clips, just Austin-Rock in the ring, Austin during this time getting probably 5 stunners in on The Rock(this is first time I can remember seeing Rock doing his overselling of the stunners)

Vince was funny as hell but Rock was even funnier during his match.

Even though it was for one night only and was done to fool HBK, seeing the "New Corporate Outlaws" stuff seemed so weird. Corporate Outlaws and HBK going up against HHH/Xpac.

Owen Hart "comes out of retirement" lol. And this is the craziest timing ever! During one match, Blue Blazer came out to attack Steve Blackman and.....he pulled a Titus! So funny to watch this just days after the Titus stuff.

And the Austin-Taker stuff keeps getting better!

                                Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Now at IYH Rock Bottom. I still think WWE today should do this for their non A or B level PPVs. Allows them to be creative and can put other names in the title like "IYH Balor Club".

Ultimate foreshadowing to kickoff the event. Rock was doing a pre-show promo and during it he said that all PPVs from now on will be named after him. One suggestion he gave was "Layeth the Smackdown". Obviously Smackdown was named after one of his catchphrases, but the timing of it was perfect because this one actually did happen literally months later.

Rock-Mankind ending was one I think people today would go crazy over. Mankind beats The Rock cleanly in the title match (via knockout)! BUT..McMahon says Rock retains because he didn't get pinned or tap out.

Austin-Taker buried alive match was a good one, though an awkward ending to it. Whoever was operating that construction truck never used it before did they? They had no idea how to pick up or drop dirt on the grave. Another foreshadowing was them mentioning comments from Mr.McMahon about how Austin had "no chance in hell". Just a month away from that song being introduced via the Royal Rumble and McMahon adopting it.

Sad though watching this realizing it's Owens last match(minus a shotgun saturday night taping) in Canada. Speaking of which, show taking place in Vancouver! How has WWE never gone to Vancouver for a TV event since 2000! So many great crowds throughout Canada, they really need to visit more again. Could easily sell out the arenas. Weird seeing the security guards in the arena decked out in Vancouver Grizzlies colours!
