Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
St. Valentine's day massacre opening video is one of funniest and cooler ones I've seen, simply for their song choice. Remember, this is attitude era. Austin, McMahon, Ministry, DX to the tune of this

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Saw a clip of a match from Wrestlefest '88, which was a stadium show in Milwaukee, and the commentators were Sean Mooney, Lord Alfred Hayes, and Superstar Billy Graham. Lol. Gonna have to sit down and watch that whole show.
Have to say, I thought the commentary duo of Vince McMahon and Bruno Sammartino on those Tuesday Night Titans matches is lowkey pretty great.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
St.Valentines Day Massacre was a decent PPV.
Al Snow vs Bob Holly for Hardcore Title(past month or so the Hardcore matches have been some of the best on these shows). Next night on Raw, King names him "Hardcore Holly"!
History made with Chyna being first woman to compete against a man(not including the rumble) in a 2v2 match with Kane vs XPac/HHH.
For all the build for Rock-Foley, a LMS match ending with no winner?
And then the main event, McMahon vs Austin in a cage. Don't know why they used the old cage though. Recently on Raw, they had a steel cage match with the type of cage we see nowadays. Best part was McMahon going off the cage and through that table! Knowing how the match ended, I'm still surprised Big Show was under that ring the whole PPV, and the cage itself didn't come apart during the match, given that the ending had Big Show throwing Austin into the cage wall with it easily breaking(I'm guessing that was supposed to happen?).
Next night on Raw, road to WM really begins! Ministry of Darkness intro is great. Just having Undertaker coming out with his lighting and music, then seeing several guys following him is a cool sight. They kidnapped Bossman the night before. Undertaker mentions the "higher power"! I know how it ended, but I don't know the details inbetween, so I wanna see for myself how much of anything that went on actually makes sense in this.
Shane wins the Euro title! Later in night, Ministry kidnaps Shane and Taker uses Shane as a messenger for Vince.
Main event with Rock-Mankind for title in a ladder match, obviously ends with Rock winning title setting up Rock-Austin at WM(I wonder if there were ever any plans for it to be Rock-Mankind-Austin?). I believe this might have been beginning of when Rock started to insanely oversell Austins stunners.
Women wise, the more I see of Chyna(all this BEFORE she did things like the Jericho and Eddie stuff), more I really think she probably should've been the greatest female superstar in WWE history if not for what went on behind the cameras. And Sable, she's the womens champ but it's funny how her title reign mimics Lesnars in a way. Barely appearing on TV, you almost forget who is the champ or that this division exists.Last edited by Majingir; 06-01-2018, 10:46 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Bronko Lubitsch has to be the worst referee in wrestling history. The guy can't even slide down instead, he gets on his knee hanging onto the rope and does the slowest, most lame count on the face of the earth. He also looked ineffectual as hell whenever he had to break up Race and Von Erich in the corners. At least he provided some comedy with his insanely fast countout when someone (I forget who, I think Race) was out of the ring.
You'd think that would ruin the match but man, that Race/Von Erich match from 1977 is the very definition of hidden gem. You guys should check it out if you haven't.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I miss Booker T's Nitro entrance. No clue what he was saying but I loved him talking **** to the camera on the way to the ring.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I remember his arm movement when he would count being extra so his the counts were really like five counts.

I don't usually care about refs, but they do have funny moments at times. I think it was Charles Robinson at wm24 where he was running down the long ramp as a replacement. People turned that into a funny dramatic YouTube video.
And a few years ago, I remembered a cage match where a pinfall happened, and the ref out of position then leaped over both guys while diving towards the mat to count the fall.
Most recently, I believe it was new day and bludgeon brothers were facing off in the ring. The ref was in the middle of it, and once he realized they were facing off, he bolted.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I feel like Sid might have been one of the first guys to start cutting promos into the camera every time he came out. He did that in his first WWF run, even before jobber matches.
But in WCW, especially during the height of NWO/Nitro, if you were a midcard guy you had to do whatever you could to stand out, because the announcers would always be talking about Hogan/NWO during your match.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
First Monday of the month, so it's new collection time.
This month is Godfather and MITB. MITB collection has all the cash-ins after their matches too, which is cool because it saves time from using the Network's horrible searching.
As usual, all the info's on WWE's site: https://www.wwe.com/wwe-network-2018-collections
July collections will be Jeff Jarrett and Women's Evolution.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
For those wondering, Something To Wrestle With was not uploaded due to "creative differences". This week the discussion was WWE's ECW and WWE wanted them to edit some things out.
Bruce said on Twitter it had nothing to do with Benoit so that rules it out. On the other hand.... they may already be bitter about a certain straight edge superstar who just beat them in court yesterday. So I am going to say WWE wanted all Punk mentions gone while Bruce and Conrad are insisting on keeping it in.Comment
