    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

The brothers of destruction special definitely revealed some things I never knew before.

It makes me even madder about the streak ending. The plan wasn't ever having Lesnar breaking the streak...until it was, the day of! And Taker wanted Roman being the one to break it. Imagine if Reigns broke the streak, the night after WM still had that same promo, and we got the Reigns we've had the past few months, led by Paul Heyman. That would've launched a HHH level of top heel in the company.

Finishing Undertaker's latest appearance on Broken Skull Sessions...... Undertaker telling stories has become my favorite thing in wrestling in the last couple years.

Speaking of the podcast, that was interesting to hear backstage story behind one of the biggest moments in wwe history.

HBK vs Austin at WM. HBK perhaps gonna refuse to let Austin beat him, perhaps a Summerslam vs Hogan like moment, and Undertaker was gonna legitimately go out there and force HBK (I'm guessing legit attack him) to take the pin.

Forgotten? moment from the match, Tyson did do a fast count. Perhaps he was told count fast incase HBK tried kicking out and ruining that moment? I'd imagine if Taker had to come out, Tysons fast count still happens for even more reason.

Yeah that’s a cool story. I think Taker talks about it in his Cheap Heat interview from a few months ago as well

Almost at Fully Loaded 2000! Yes, it's kind of weird watching this while in real time Taker just retired, compared to here where he's only 10 years in to his career.

What a crazy opening segment. A 20 min segment which featured Foley,Taker,Kane,HHH,Angle,Rock,Shane,Benoit,Edge, Christian at various points in it!

Following this promo, we had Hardys vs Dudleys, which also had Trish attack Lita and push her off a ladder into a table! Trish vs Lita in today's WWE would've been even better than their 00s feud.

98 might have been best year of AE in terms of stories, but 2000 roster was so stacked.

Controversial opinion, but Steven Richards RTC stuff was actually funny. He literally just interrupts a match, grabs the table and sprints out of the arena.

Original shows like that are what make the Network so good.

Obviously the classic content and current PPVs are nice, and expected, but some of these original content are great. Without the network, none of that would ever happen.

And not network related, but their podcasts are good too. New Day Podcast is easily the best one.

Big E manages to find new ways every week to bring up how he was just minding his own business and the one day, for no reason at all, someone came up to him and took his last name! He lost his family.

Big E: They took my last name! My family's gone!

                  Bayley: Don't worry E, I don't have a last name either.

Big E: But you've never had one. You've had time to adjust.

Bayley: I've never had a family?

Woods: You were dropped off by storks. You just grew up somehow.

And god forbid any of these extremely charismatic people are allowed to have exchanges like that on camera to further their characters.

Obviously The New Day and now lately Bayley have been able to but you get my point.

I've said this for ages. Many of the talent seem more entertaining OFF TV. They always say that characters on TV are themselves turned up to 11, but nowadays it seems like the opposite.

I never knew this ever happened. Everyone knows about Rikishi off HIAC, but this had to be way crazier with no padding or anything.

So many crazy moments like that back then in that era on those PPVs. Too many to remember all of them. And always put over to the max by JR and King.

That Jericho vs HHH last man standing match was great. Not as grueling as HHH vs Cactus, but talk about blood.

And what a crazy moment after the match.

Both men are down, and Steph is knelt over HHH while terrified and crying as she literally has his blood on her hands.

I've heard many people mention Steph when she was really starting to learn the business, she was obsessed with learning ring psychology. She definitely did a great job at it, especially here. I wonder how much she values things like that nowadays. Ring psychology imo is a lost art in wrestling today.

Like someone said on here, it's crazy when you look at WWE from 90s to 00s and it feels like 30 years. Most talent nowadays have a longer shelf life than most talent in past eras, but nowhere near the memorability.

And JR/King had as much chemistry as any duo in any commentary role ever had.

King: I want to apologize to everyone at home for this vulgar language from the crowd here tonight.

JR: And I want to apologize to everyone for having to listen to King being the biggest butt kisser around.

*Shane pulls down top rope and Rock goes flying out of the ring*
King: I think Shane was trying to get into the ring.

JR: How much more can you embarrass yourself by saying stupid things that you know are not true. Just don't do it. Just don't do it!
