Never knew how close that match was to being a steel cage match because you cant dare have 1 similar match types on a card.
Is that wrong? Worked in this case because Shawn vs Vince and Edge vs Foley were two different styles, but in general it makes sense to not have similar gimmick matches because it's bound to take away from one of them.

What if a PPV had a cage match and a HIAC? Or a Ladder and a ____ on a Pole match? Or a submission and an I Quit? Casket match and a Buried Alive? We'd call it out for being repetitive.

Good episode though. For anyone curious about Peacock ads, the show was 44 minutes long and there were 5 ad breaks when I watched - two one-minute breaks, two 45-second, and one 30-second.

Nowadays most PPVs are just that (same gimmick matches), but imo that's not what takes away from it. It's the lack of build and utilization that makes the gimmick feel pointless.

Like how we have a mens and women's rumble match. I dont find it takes away from the other by having 2 in one night. If anything I like that more.

Two HIAC matches at times can be a bad thing because a match just gets forced to have a gimmick, but if it makes sense, it's great. Like this past year, Reigns vs Uso in the first ever I quit HIAC, and then Sasha vs Bayley in HIAC too. Both were great matches and stood out differently. Even Orton vs McIntyre was good too, but 3 is where I'd draw the line there. Some gimmicks are fine having multiple ones in a night.

Like the TLC PPV format where we have a tables match, ladder match, chairs match, and a tlc match. I don't mind those all in one night, if the matches and feud actually revolve around it. A tables match that's 99% in ring action, 1% no dq/tables utilization is pointless.

Like you said, its 2 diff styles of matches, which is why it worked. But even going into the match you knew that would be the case, but it still took Edge pleading with Vince to let him vs Foley happen in a hardcore match.

Just saw the schedule for this week.

The HOF will be two 90 minute shows. So 3 hours total for 2 HOF classes. Definitely sounds like real short speeches.

Both nights of Takeover look like they'll be having overruns.

WM will be 1 hour preshow and 3 hour main card each night.

Peacock is paying for content, and WWE is churning it out. We're way past the point of oversaturation and big matches really mattering anyways.

Let’s be honest. They oversaturated the Day Thunder started on TBS and WWE answered with Smackdown on UPN.

                      Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Almost done my WM rewatched before this weekend. Now on WM33, THE ULTIMATE THRILL RIDE!

                      2 main parts I loved.

                      1. Hardys return! Now that was an insane pop. Too bad we didn't get as many Hardy Boys moments as we would've liked. Hope we get to see them again in the future, probably in AEW.

                      2. Undertaker vs Reigns should've been Takers last match, the end of the streak, and beginning of heel Reigns (aka Tribal Chief with Paul Heyman). Sucks to know in hindsight that it wasn't his last match, and he wanted someone like Reigns to have ended it. Best part of this whole match is probably the pyros for Reigns at the end, Takers "goodbye", and then the biggest boos ever for Reigns to kick off Raw the next night.

Someone letting me use their VPN service, I can't deal with Peacock's constant 30 second black screen during each show.

Removing the nation parody but keeping this makes no sense.
